Abstract

Provided is an electromagnetic induction type displacement detection apparatus in which influence of a change in magnetic flux received by a receiving device can be suppressed. An electromagnetic induction type displacement detection apparatusincludes a scale including a scale coil and a headrelatively moving with respect to the scale. The headincludes a transmitting devicethat generates magnetic flux in the scale coil, and a receiving devicethat includes a first receiving unitand a second receiving uniteach receiving the change in the magnetic flux and in which the first receiving unitand the second receiving unitare arranged to be shifted from each other along a measurement direction. The receiving deviceincludes one end portionand another end portionin which a density of a plurality of receiving coilsis made sparse, and a central portionthat is positioned between the one end portionand the other end portionand in which the density of the plurality of receiving coilsis made dense. The electromagnetic induction type displacement detection apparatusincludes the one end portionand the other end portionand the central portion, whereby influence of the change in the magnetic flux received by the receiving devicecan be suppressed.
