To identify a cytochrome P450 involved in the detoxification and metabolism of a specific growth inhibitor. Provided is a gene encoding a cytochrome P450 classified into Indica rice-derived CYP72A31, comprising a polynucleotide encoding a protein comprising an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.
