Disclosed is a plasma generation device. A plasma generation device, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an electromagnetic wave generator; a plasma torch which generates plasma by arc discharge; and a waveguide which guides an electromagnetic wave generated by the electromagnetic wave generator to be transmitted to the plasma side, wherein the electromagnetic wave transmitted through the waveguide heats one side portion of the plasma.

Disclosed herein is a surface treatment method of a ceramic powder using microwave plasma in order to enhance flowability. The surface treatment method can be applied to a ceramic powder having a small particle size of 45 &#x3bc;m or less and can significantly enhance flowability while reducing an influence on a particle size compared to a conventional method. The invention is directed to an apparatus made of atmospheric-pressure microwave plasma torches for elimination of toxic airborne chemical and biological warfare agents. The apparatus can purify the interior air of large volume in an isolated space such as buildings, public transportation systems, and military vehicles contaminated with chemical and biological warfare agents. The apparatus consists of several microwave plasma torches connected in series for elimination and burnout of toxic airborne warfare agents. Microwave radiation generates an atmospheric plasma torch in certain conditions. Oxidation mechanism in the torch flames eliminates the chemical and biological warfare agents.

Elimination of airborne chemical and biological warfare agents

The surface cleaning of various components of high-tech devices, including computers and/or semiconductors, is performed during manufacturing. This surface cleaning is performed within a reduced pressure chamber by making use of perifluorocompound industrial gases, which eventually contaminate the atmosphere. These contaminant gases are emitted with nitrogen gas, which is used in operation of a dry pump. Under certain conditions, microwave radiation generates an atmospheric plasma torch. This plasma-torch device is attached to the vacuum pump, which emits the nitrogen gas with contaminants. The oxidation mechanism in the torch flames eliminates these contaminants. Additional reaction gases are mixed with the waste gas to improve efficiency of the contaminant elimination.
