Provided is a drink containing vegetable juice and excellent in ease of drinking. A vegetable drink composition contains from 0.1 to 1.2 wt. % of (A) solids derived from vegetables and/or fruits, (B) an acidic polysaccharide water-soluble dietary fiber, and (C) water.

Vegetable and/or fruit drink composition

A vegetable drink composition containing (A) from 0.1 to 15% by weight of one or more substances selected from the group consisting of water-soluble acidic polysaccharide dietary fiber, water-soluble neutral polysaccharide dietary fiber, and indigestible oligosaccharide; (B) 65% by weight or more of water; and (C) one or more vegetable juices; which is subjected to a heat sterilization treatment; has a vegetable solid content of from 0.001 to 0.09% by weight, wherein said vegetable solid is a solid material having a particle size of 833 &#x3bc;m or smaller; and has a pH of from 3 to 5.

Vegetable drink composition

The invention relates to a composition for taking dietary fibers, which comprises 1 to 50% by weight, on the basis of the whole composition, of dietary fibers composed of water-soluble and hardly fermentable dietary fiber and water-soluble and fermentable dietary fiber, wherein the water-soluble and fermentable dietary fiber is contained in a proportion of 0.1 to 3 parts by weight per part by weight of the water-soluble and hardly fermentable dietary fiber. The composition remarkably ameliorates not only bowel movement frequency but also full consciousness, feeling of unsatisfied defecation, etc. and is hence useful as food for ameliorating bowel movement.

Compositions for taking dietary fibers

To provide a packaged coffee beverage, which contains chlorogenic acids at high concentration, has good flavor and taste, and is suppressed in the occurrence of sediment during long-term storage. A packaged coffee beverage subjected to heat sterilization treatment, the beverage comprising (A) monocaffeoylquinic acid, (B) feruloylquinic acid and (C) dicaffeoylquinic acid, wherein (a) a total content of the ingredients (A), (B) and (C) contained in dissolved states in the beverage is from 0.14 to 4% by weight based on the beverage, and the beverage comprises (b) 80% by weight or more of water, (c) magnesium and sodium at a Mg/Na weight ratio of from 0.04 to 1, (d) a coffee extract obtained from roasted coffee beans having an L value of form 16 to 25, and (e) from 0.0024 to 0.0122% by weight of brown color in terms of Food Yellow No. 4.

Packaged coffee drink

Provided is a packaged beverage which can be discharged from the beverage container uniformly because precipitates containing effective components derived from vegetables or fruits can be dispersed quickly by mild shaking, though the formation of precipitates during long-term storage is allowed from the viewpoint of incorporating the effective components in the beverage without damaging them; is excellent in desorption and re-dispersibility of the precipitates; and is easy to drink. A packaged beverage contains a vegetable juice and/or a fruit juice, which contains the following components (A) to (D):

A vegetable drink composition is provided. The vegetable drink composition is free of cooked odor attributable to heat sterilization treatment, is excellent in taste and also in the feeling as it passes down the throat when swallowed, and is possible to consume over a long period of time. The vegetable drink composition has been subjected to heat sterilization treatment and has a vegetable solid content of from 0.001 to 0.09% by weight and a pH of from 3 to 5. It contains the following ingredients (A) and (B):

A packaged coffee drink containing chlorogenic acid in high concentration and having excellent flavor and suppressed precipitation when stored for a prolonged time is provided. The heat-sterilized packaged coffee drink contains (A) monocaffeoylquinic acid, (B) ferulaquinic acid and (C) dicaffeoylquinic acid, the drink containing (i) a total of from 0.19 to 4% by mass of the components (A), (B) and (C) in a dissolved state, (ii) 80% by mass or more of water and (iii) from 0.005 to 0.028% by mass of a brown colorant in terms of edible yellow dye No. 4, wherein (iv) the mass ratio of magnesium/sodium is from 0.04 to 1, and (v) the mass ratio of quinic acid/brown colorant is from 0.5 to 30.

A bitterness-relieving agent which comprises an ester of a mono- or diglyceride with a polycarboxylic acid or a salt of the same, and a medicinal composition for oral use, a food, a cosmetic and a feed containing this bitterness-relieving agent. Because of being excellent in the effect of relieving bitterness, the bitterness-relieving agent of the present invention can be used in medicinal compositions for oral use, foods and cosmetics having bitter taste.
