In a fuel cut-off device for an engine in which one of a plurality of generating coils of a generator is connected to a normally-opened type solenoid valve adapted to block a fuel passage in a carburetor upon energization of the solenoid valve through an engine control switch adapted to be operated to a turned-off position and a turned-on position so that the solenoid valve can be energized from the one generating coil in the turned-off position of the switch, an output from the one generating coil is supplied to an electric load in the turned-on position of the engine control switch, together with outputs from the other generating coils. Thus, during operation of the engine, also the output from the one generating coil conventionally prepared for cutting off fuel is effectively supplied to the electric load, together with the outputs from the other generating coils, whereby the generating performance of the generator can be enhanced.

Fuel cut-off device for engine

A small-sized boat of the present invention includes a plurality of diaphragm type carburetors corresponding to each cylinder of a multicylinder engine. A crankshaft axis extends along a line extending through a bow and a stern of a hull. The carburetors include a plurality of shafts for throttle valves extending vertically in correspondence thereto, one throttle link connected to upper parts of the shafts for the throttle valves, and a plurality of diaphragm mechanisms having operating surfaces perpendicular to the crankshaft axis. By linking a plurality of the carburetors together to form an assembly of the carburetors, an overall size of carburetors is made small. Therefore, each carburetor can be mounted in a small engine room in correspondence to each cylinder of the engine.

Small-sized boat

An internal combustion engine with dry sump lubricating system includes a feed pump which supplies lubricating oil from a lubricating oil tank disposed outside an engine body to all moving parts in the engine. After circulating through the engine, the lubricating oil drops down into a crank chamber and is immediately picked up from the crank chamber and sent back into the lubricating oil tank by a recovery pump. Since the lubricating oil tank is attached to an end of the engine body from which a crankshaft project, it does not increase the overall width (dimension in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the crankshaft) and height of the engine. Even when the engine has inclined cylinders, the lubricating oil tank can avail a high degree of design freedom because the end face is not influenced by inclination of the cylinders as greatly as side surfaces of the engine body. The engine also includes a breather system so designed as to prevent an operation failure of the engine which would otherwise be caused due to inflow of the lubricating oil into an intake system of the engine.

Internal combustion engine with dry sump lubricating system

An exhaust emission control apparatus for a general-purpose internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust passage allowing passage of an exhaust gas therethrough and having a ternary catalyst, and an air pump for supplying a secondary air to the exhaust passage. The air pump is driven by rotation of a camshaft having a cam for opening and closing an exhaust or intake valve of the internal combustion engine. The drive of the air pump is effected by a pump rocker arm disposed between the cam and a pump shaft of the air pump.

Exhaust emission control apparatus for a general-purpose internal

An outboard engine assembly for use on a boat includes an engine having a substantially vertical crankshaft and a pair of banks of vertically juxtaposed horizontal cylinders, the banks being arranged in a V shape, the cylinders of the banks having axes angularly spaced from each other by an angle of 90.degree. or smaller. The outboard engine assembly has a propeller operatively connected to a downwardly extending vertical shaft coupled to the crankshaft. The engine and the vertical shaft is accommodated in a case assembly. The engine and the case assembly are installed on the hull of the boat by upper and lower support members. Vibroisolating rubber dampers are disposed between the boat hull and the upper and lower support members for isolating vibrations from the engine from the boat hull.

Outboard engine assembly

A drive transmission system for a vessel propelling equipment 1 provided with a clutch operating device that can easily be installed comprises a shift slider 40 axially slidable within a propeller shaft 9 to move a clutch gear 30 through a clutch shifter pin 38 inserted through the propeller shaft; and an operating member capable of operating the shifts slider from above a gear case 5; the operating member includes: a shift fork 50 engaged with 9 fork engaging portion 35c of the shift slider, to move the shift slider; a guide member 59 supporting the shift fork movable in a specific direction; a rotary rod member 55 engaged with a rod engaging section 50b of the shift fork to move the shift fork; and a support member 51 drivably supporting the rod member and fixedly supporting the guide member, thereby sub-assembling the rod member and the guide member to transmit the operation of the rod member to the shift fork; the shift fork is so assembled to be engaged with the fork engaging section of the shift slider by fitting the support member from above in a specific fitting section in the gear case, thereby transmitting the movement of the rod member to the shift slider.

Drive transmission system for vessel propelling equipment

A portable engine-operated electric generator includes an engine having an output shaft and including heated and unheated components required for operation of the engine, a generator unit having an input shaft and drivable by the engine, the engine and the generator unit being vertically arranged, the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the generator unit being coupled to each other in axial alignment in a vertical direction, and a sound insulating case accommodating the engine and the generator unit and having a horizontal longitudinal axis. The heated and unheated components are separated from each other by, and located on opposite sides of, a plane lying in the vertical direction and in a direction normal to the horizontal longitudinal axis.
