A kitchen appliance is disclosed for cooking a meat product. The kitchen appliance includes a heating element adapted to heat a medium for transferring heat to the meat product, a sensor for detecting loss of water from a contact surface of the meat product with the medium, and a controller conductively coupled to the sensor. The controller processes a sensor signal produced by the sensor, and generates a control signal indicative of the meat product reaching a defined cooking state in response to the processed sensor signal being indicative of a loss of water associated with the desired cooking state from the contact surface of the meat product.

Kitchen appliance and cooking monitoring method

Air-based fryer including a food preparation chamber including an outer wall, an inner wall defining a food receiving space with an air inlet and an air discharge opening, and a circulation channel defined between the outer wall and the inner wall. The fryer includes an air heater for heating air in the food preparation chamber, a fan for moving a flow of hot air successively through the air inlet, the food receiving space, the discharge opening, and the channel. The fryer includes a steam generator including at least one nozzle extending into the food receiving space for spraying temperature-controlled steam onto the food; and a controller adapted to control the steam generator to spray steam to food placed in the food receiving space for a first predetermined period, and to control the air heater and the fan to circulate hot air to the food for a subsequent second predetermined period.

Apparatus and method for preparing food

Disclosed is a food preparation apparatus () comprising a food preparation chamber and a pressure chamber () for generating steam coupled to the food preparation chamber through a conduit (), wherein the pressure chamber comprises a heating element () for converting water into steam; and the conduit comprises an auto-relief valve () arranged to release the steam at a set pressure above atmospheric pressure from the pressure chamber into the food preparation chamber, thereby creating superheated steam in the food preparation chamber by the rapid expansion of the released volume of the above atmospheric pressure (saturated) steam. A method () of preparing food in such a food preparation apparatus () is also disclosed.

Food steaming

Described is a method of producing a beverage, including the steps of introducing a first portion of solvent into a container () stored with raw ingredients, the first portion of solvent having a first temperature; introducing a second portion of solvent into the container (), the mixture of the first portion of solvent and the second portion of solvent having a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature; and grinding the raw ingredients together with the mixture of the first portion of solvent and the second portion of solvent to generate the beverage.
