A secondary air introducing device for an engine including a cylinder, an associated piston, and a secondary air introducing hole formed in a side wall of the cylinder in such a manner that said hole is located near the bottom dead center of the piston and is opened and closed by the piston. The secondary air introducing hole is made to communicates through inlet passages with the atmosphere, so that the external air is introduced into the cylinder through the secondary air introducing hole by a negative pressure which is produced in the cylinder at the end of a suction stroke of said engine, and a control valve means opened and closed according to variations in load of the engine is provided in the inlet passages, thus controlling an amount of air introduced therein.

Secondary air introducing device in engine

A secondary air introducing apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprising a secondary air introducing opening in the sidewall of the cylinder near the position of lower dead point of a piston of the engine. The opening is opened and closed by the piston. A secondary air supply source is interconnected with the opening by an introducing passage. The introducing passage is formed to be an upwardly directed passage extending only upwards from the opening.

Secondary air introducing apparatus for internal combustion engine

An internal system for use in an internal combustion engine which includes a carburetor, a throttle valve and a check valve. A supplemental chamber is connected to an intake passage adapted to introduce therethrough air-fuel mixture from the throttle valve to a combustion chamber. The supplemental chamber is in communication with the intake passage at a position between the throttle valve and the check valve. The supplemental chamber is provided with an opening directed tangentially with respect to an inner cylindrical periphery of the intake passage. In another embodiment of the invention, a control passage is formed in communication between the supplemental chamber and the intake passage. A downstream end of the control passage is opened at a position adjacent to an initially opening position of the check valve.

Intake system for use in internal combustion engine

An ignition timing control system for internal combustion engines during warm-up utilizes opposed chambers separated by a flexible diaphragm to control movement of a rod to advance or retard the ignition timing. Temperature responsive electric switches energize electromagnetic valves to control vacuum pressures in said chambers, so that as a cold engine warms up, the ignition timing changes from advance to retard in a series of steps.
