The main object of the present invention is to provide a photosensitive resin composition with which a cured film that exhibits a high magnetic permeability real part μ' and a low magnetic loss tan δ in the high frequency region can be formed.

A magnetic recording medium for being used in a write/read system in which a difference of track width between write track width and read track width is smaller than 10 &#x3bc;m, which comprises: a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder; a nonmagnetic support; and a backcoating layer, in this order, at least one of the magnetic layer and the backcoating layer having servo signals for tracking control pre-recorded therein, wherein the nonmagnetic support is a film of a polyester having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.40 to 0.60 dl/g and a number average molecular weight of 12000 to 24000.

A magnetic recording medium comprising: a nonmagnetic support; an undercoat layer containing a compound polymerizable by radiation exposure; and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder, in this order wherein the undercoat layer has a thickness of from 0.1 to 1 &#x3bc;m, the binder contains a polyurethane resin having a glass transition temperature of from 100 to 200&#xb0; C., the magnetic layer has a thickness of from 20 to 150 nm, and an average particle size of the ferromagnetic powder is from 20 to 60 nm.

In one aspect, the magnetic recording medium comprises a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder and said binder comprises polyurethane resin having a glass transition temperature of 100 to 200&#xb0; C. In a second aspect, the magnetic recording medium comprises a nonmagnetic layer comprising a nonmagnetic powder and a binder and a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder in this order on a nonmagnetic support and at least the binder comprised in said magnetic layer comprises polyurethane resin having a glass transition temperature of 100 to 200&#xb0; C. In both aspects, said magnetic layer has a thickness equal to or less than 0.15 &#x3bc;m, said ferromagnetic powder has a mean major axis length or a mean plate diameter of 60 nm or less, and said magnetic layer has a coercivity of 159 to 239 kA/m in a longitudinal or in-plane direction.

Disclosed is a magnetic recording medium comprising a magnetic layer on a surface of a flexible support and a backcoat layer on the opposite surface, characterized in that the backcoat layer comprises a granulated oxide consisting of titanium oxide, &agr;-iron oxide or a mixture thereof and carbon black in the weight ratio ranging from 60/40 to 90/10, and further comprises a binder in an amount ranging from 10 to 40 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the total amount of the granulated oxide and carbon black. The magnetic recording medium of the present invention is characterized in that both the running durability and electromagnetic characteristics are excellent.

The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium, which comprises a magnetic layer having ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder on a non-magnetic support member, wherein the non-magnetic support member is made of aromatic polyamide, an undercoating layer is provided between said non-magnetic support member and a lower non-magnetic layer, or between the non-magnetic support member and the magnetic layer, said undercoating layer comprising polyamide resin having tertiary amino group and containing repeated structural units expressed by the following formulae (1) and (2).

A magnetic recording medium composed of an aromatic polyamide support, a magnetic recording layer arranged on one surface side of the support, and a back-coating layer arranged on the other surface side of the support is improved in its running durability, by forming the back-coating layer from solid particles and a binder in amounts of the range of 8/10 to 20/10, and further by placing a subbing layer of polyester resin or polyurethane resin having a Tg of 40.degree. C.-80.degree. C. and a polar group such as --SO.sub.3 M, --OSO.sub.3 M, --COOM and --OPO.sub.3 MM.sup.1 (each of M and M.sup.1 is hydrogen, an alkaline metal ion or an ammonium ion) between the support and the back-coating layer.

A magnetic recording tape favorably employable for computer data storage has a flexible polymer web, a magnetic recording layer arranged on one surface side of the web, and a backing layer arranged on another surface side of the web, characterized in that the recording tape has a thickness of 2 to 8 .mu.m and shows a Young's modulus of not less than 1,200 kg/mm.sup.2 in its longitudinal direction; and the backing layer has a thickness of 0.2 to 1 .mu.m and is composed of a binder, a carbon black, a non-magnetic powder I having Mohs' scale of hardness of 3 to 4.5 and another non-magnetic powder II having Mohs' scale of hardness of 5 to 9. Between the magnetic layer and the flexible polymer web, a non-magnetic undercoating layer composed of a binder and a non-magnetic powder can be provided.
