To provide a controller for internal combustion engine which suppresses that estimation of the combustion state is performed based on the angle information on which the component due to the torsional vibration is superimposed, when the torsional vibration occurs in the crankshaft. A controller for internal combustion engine determines whether a torsional vibration occurs in a crankshaft based on an angle period; calculates a gas pressure torque in burning based on a crank angle acceleration which is calculated based on the angle period; estimates a combustion state of an internal combustion engine based on the gas pressure torque in burning; and stops estimation of the combustion state, when it is determined that the torsional vibration occurred.

To provide a controller for internal combustion engine which can improve the estimation accuracy of the period in the chipped tooth section, even if the period is suddenly varied in the chipped tooth section. A controller for internal combustion engine detects a period when the tooth passes, based on an output signal of the crank angle sensor; determines a period corresponding to the chipped tooth section; determines a crank angle corresponding to the passed tooth; and estimates a period of a virtual unit angle interval when assuming that the tooth is provided at the unit angle interval in the chipped tooth section, based on the period of the chipped tooth section, the period before the chipped tooth section, and the period after the chipped tooth section.

To provide a controller and a control method for internal combustion engine which can set appropriately an angle interval for estimating the combustion state in accordance with change of a burning angle interval, and can reduce calculation processing load for estimation of the combustion state. A controller for internal combustion engine changes the estimation crank angle interval based on an operating condition of the internal combustion engine; calculates an increment of gas pressure torque by burning at each crank angle of the estimation crank angle interval; and estimates the combustion state of the internal combustion engine, based on the increment of gas pressure torque by burning in the estimation crank angle interval.

In the hybrid-vehicle controller, from a plurality of MG torque candidate values, there are selected the MG torque candidate values that make a 0 MG-torque-reference total supply power variation amount become the same as or smaller than a power-running-side variation amount upper limit value; then, there is selected, as a power-running-side final MG torque candidate value, the MG torque candidate value that makes an absolute value of the relative supply power variation amount ratio become maximum, among the selected MG torque candidate values.

In the apparatus, a thermal efficiency calculation unit calculates thermal efficiency based on a combination in any of ignition timing, charging efficiency, an air-fuel ratio and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) ratio being change factors in thermal efficiency of the internal-combustion engine; an exhaust-gas loss calculation unit calculates exhaust gas loss based on thermal efficiency calculated by the thermal efficiency calculation unit, and on a combination in any of the change factors of the exhaust gas loss; and an exhaust port temperature calculation unit calculates an exhaust gas temperature at an exhaust port portion based on exhaust gas loss calculated by the exhaust-gas loss calculation unit.

Internal-combustion engine control apparatus for controlling waste gate valve opening degree

The present invention provides a controller and a control method for an internal combustion engine, which can suppress the generation of an annoying collision noise and abnormal heating of a motor of an actuator, which are generated by contact of the output shaft of the actuator with an opening side stopper of the actuator. The controller and the control method for the internal combustion engine are configured such that a target opening (Sv) of the valve is set to the smaller of: a required target opening (Sv_dem) computed so that a target supercharging pressure (Sp) and an actual supercharging pressure (Pp) are matched with each other; and a restricted target opening (Sv_lmt) computed based on a fully closed position learning value (Pv_lrn), which corresponds to an actual position detected by a position sensor, when the valve is located in the fully closed position, and on the restricted target position.

In a control system for an internal combustion engine, the waste gate actuator controls the opening and closing of a waste gate valve according to operation amount controlled by the control device, an actual position of the waste gate actuator detected by the position sensor for detecting the position of the waste gate actuator which correlates to the actual open position of a waste gate valve is inputted to the control device, the control device performs control for limiting the operation amount to stop to predetermined opening deviation in the direction toward open side from open side stopper position of the waste gate.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes an oil pressure regulating valve having a solenoid, a variable cam phase mechanism for changing a cam phase, and an ECU for controlling the oil pressure regulating valve. By controlling a high pressure pump with the use of a cam angle signal so as to open it and then close it after the lapse of a prescribed period corresponding to an amount of discharge, a fuel supply control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is capable of achieving the simplification of control while ensuring controllability without requiring correction even if valve timing is changed. A crank angle sensor generates a crank angle signal SGT in synchronization with the rotation of a crankshaft so as to supply the fuel in a fuel tank to an injector installed in a combustion chamber of each engine cylinder. A cam angle sensor generates the cam angle signal SGC in synchronization with the rotation of a camshaft. A high pressure pump has a suction stroke and a discharge stroke synchronized with the rotation of the camshaft and supplies the fuel to the injector. An ECU changes an effective stroke related to an exhaust stroke of the pump based on the cam angle signal SGC.
