A method for manufacturing a PDMS device in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention surface treats the entire surface of a pattern with a thiol group (—SH), so that a hydrogel may be connected to the surface of the pattern by a covalent bond under ultraviolet rays. Therefore, a PDMS device manufactured by the above method has an advantage in that the shape thereof may be stably maintained without the swelling or desorption of a hydrogel even when an electrolyte is filled in a pattern.

Disclosed is a polypeptide containing an extracellular domain of a synaptogenic protein, and a method for manufacturing a nerve cell, a complex containing a biotin tagged at the C-terminus of the polypeptide, an artificial synapse inducer for coupling the composite to a streptavidin (SAV)-coated substrate and a nerve cell. The complex tagged with a biotin at the C-terminus of the polypeptide containing the extracellular domain of the synaptogenic protein, such as neuroligin-1, can display activity by being attached to the SAV-coated substrate to adjust the orientation thereof without help of a supported lipid bilayer. The complex containing an additional RFP between the extracellular domain and the biotin of the synaptogenic protein not only facilitates easier mass-production, quantification, and tracking, but also displays activity of a normal synaptogenic protein, thereby inducing excitatory or inhibitory synaptic differentiation by being fixed to the substrate and added to the nerve cell culture.

The present invention relates to a virus-microbead complex including a microbead and a virus layer, in which linear viruses are bound individually to the surface of the microbead, and an immunoassay kit including the same. The virus-microbead complex of the present invention is characterized in that the linear viruses are bound to the surface of the microbead so that the orientations of the linear viruses are regulated using the interaction of streptavidin-biotin introduced thereon, thereby providing a significantly increased volume to surface area ratio, increasing the number of antibodies or ligands capable of binding thereto, and as a result, mediating the binding of antibodies or ligands to a unit bead with high density, which eventually leads to an increased sensitivity in immunoassays, and an application into a suspension array. Additionally, it was confirmed that cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in serum can be detected up to 20 pg/mL by introducing a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) containing PEG to remove a non-specific adsorption.

Provided are a method for forming a pattern, and a catalyst and an electronic element using the method. The method for forming a pattern comprises the steps of: preparing, on a surface, a substrate sequentially including a photoconductive material layer and an oxide layer; making an area, on which a pattern is to be formed, on the oxide layer of the substrate, come into contact with an electrolyte; connecting the substrate and the electrolyte to a first electrode and a second electrode connected to a power source, respectively; and selectively irradiating light from a light source to the electrolyte and applying a voltage to the first electrode or the second electrode, thereby directly forming the pattern on the oxide layer of the substrate.

The present disclosure relates to a probe capable of electrochemical and Raman spectroscopic monitoring wherein a Raman-active gold microshell having conductivity is attached to the tip of a glass microcapillary tube in which a conductive material is coated on an inner wall thereof by electroless plating. By coupling the probe with a system capable of moving the probe, the activities of various catalyst materials can be detected quickly and information of intermediate products moving from and adsorbed on the surface can be provided.

Hybrid microprobe for electrochemical and SERS monitoring, scanning and feedback stimulation and the preparation method thereof

A method for the fabrication of a mesoporous metal electrode in a non-liquid crystalline phase was tested. Specifically, there was tested the efficacy of the method for the fabrication of a mesoporous metal electrode which comprises forming the mesoporous metal electrode on a substrate by chemical or electrochemical reduction of a mixture comprising a solvent, a structure-directing agent, and a source of a metal, characterized in that the mixture is maintained in a non-liquid crystal phase. Furthermore, the usefulness of the mesoporous metal electrode thus prepared from the non-liquid crystalline phase was also tested. The mesoporous metal electrode prepared from the non-liquid crystalline phase had a large surface area, and a roughness factor thereof was controlled by charges passed during electroplating. The method made it possible to fabricate the mesoporous metal electrode in the non-liquid crystalline phase, even more flexible than a liquid crystalline phase. The mesoporous metal electrode prepared by the method had randomly distributed mesopores on the surface thereof and retained a large roughness factor. The method was found to be a good alternative to the conventional fabrication of porous platinum films in the liquid crystalline phase. Furthermore, the method was found to be suitably applicable to automatic processes, because the mesoporous metal electrode was prepared in the highly flexible non-liquid crystalline phase. Recovery and recycling of raw materials were also improved. The mesoporous metal electrode prepared by the method can be suitably used for the detection of glucose and proton, and as a cathode or an anode of fuel cells.
