A longitudinally adjustable connecting rod for a piston engine, where the connecting rod includes a first connecting rod end for receiving a piston pin and a second connecting rod end for receiving a crankshaft journal, where the distance between the piston pin and the crankshaft journal is adjustable in the longitudinal direction (A) of the connecting rod by way of a hydraulic control device with a hydraulic control valve. The hydraulic control valve comprises a control cylinder and a control slide which is guided in a slidable manner in the control cylinder and which can be pressurized, and at least one outlet valve which can be actuated by the control slide. The control slide comprises a control piston which is arranged on the end face, with a control pressure surface which can be subjected to the hydraulic control pressure and which defines a control pressure chamber in the control cylinder. The use of such a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod with a hydraulic control device in a piston engine as well as a corresponding piston engine is also provided.

A length-adjustable connecting rod for an internal combustion engine, where the connecting rod includes at least one switchable outlet valve for opening and closing a pressure chamber, where the outlet valve comprises a valve body and a closing body that is operatively connected to the valve body, and a closing mechanism is present acting upon the closing body for directly moving the closing body and indirectly moving the valve body from a closed to an open position or vice versa. Such an outlet valve is to be configured to be operable. For this purpose, this closing body has a mass which is smaller than the volume defined by the envelope contour of the closing body multiplied by the density of steel (7.85 g/mm). The use of such a closing body for a respective length-adjustable connecting rod is also provided.

A length-adjustable connecting rod for an internal combustion engine, comprises a first connecting rod member, a second connecting rod member and at least one cylinder-piston assembly for adjusting the first connecting rod member relative to the second connecting rod member. The cylinder-piston assembly can be actuated by way of a hydraulic adjustment mechanism, where the hydraulic adjustment mechanism comprises at least one oil filter in order to filter the engine oil of the internal combustion engine flowing into the cylinder-piston assembly. The invention further relates to an internal combustion engine with such a length-adjustable connecting rod and the use of such a cylinder-piston assembly for a length-adjustable connecting rod of an internal combustion engine.

The present invention relates to a traction drive with a compensating device for vibration reduction of a driven shaft, for example a camshaft, a water pump shaft or an injection pump shaft of an internal combustion engine, having a drive wheel which is coupled to the shaft, having a drive means, and having at least one compensating mass which is relatively movable in the traction drive and having at least one actuating mechanism for moving the compensating mass. Here, the compensating mass is movable in or counter to the rotational direction of the shaft, and the actuating mechanism is formed as a tangentially acting actuator for moving the compensating mass. The invention also relates to a method for vibration reduction in a traction drive, having a driven shaft, a drive wheel and a drive means, wherein at least one actuating mechanism moves at least one compensating mass which is relatively movable in the traction drive, having the steps: activating the actuating mechanism, moving the compensating mass and generating a compensating torque at the driven shaft. In the case of a control drive with a camshaft adjusting system for the angular adjustment of the control time, the camshaft which is movable relative to the traction drive can simultaneously be used as a compensating mass for vibration reduction.
