Natural products with antioxidant activity and production method of thereof, their composition being effective in scavenging reactive oxygen species in the human body. Said natural products are produced by brewing plant seeds, grain and/or germs thereof, containing low-molecular-weight reactive oxygen species-scavenging substances, with microorganisms added thereto, and by adding oil obtained from heated plant to the product. Vitamin C, vitamin C derivatives, or plants containing these substances may be further added to the products.

Antioxidant composition of natural products and producing method thereof

Disclosed is a preservative composition for foodstuffs and the like, which is comprised of (i) a metal powder or a granulated product thereof, (ii) an oxidation accelerator for the metal, (iii) polyallylamine, and (iv) an optional ethanol vapor-generating member. The polyallylamine is preferably deodorized by loading a solution of polyallylamine or a salt thereof on a carrier, and heating and drying the polyallylamine-loaded carrier.

Preservative composition

An apparatus for coating pharmaceutical tablets or the like with other material such as sugar or the like. The apparatus includes a cylindrical rotary coating pan in which the tablets are charged and tumbled, and at least one perforated area for ventilating hot gas or the like so as to dry the sugar coated on the tablets. The perforated area of the coating pan is covered by each of baffle members. The baffle members being hollow are provided at positions to cover ventilating areas in the the coating pan, formed to be at least partially increased in width from the leading edge to the trailing edge relative to the rotational direction of the coating pan, and each have a ventilating opening communicated with the ventilating areas. Each of baffle members is formed of a hollow tube polygonal or cylindrical in cross section. A ventilating member for preventing a raw material to be coated from leaking is provided at the ventilating opening of the baffle member.

Coating apparatus

A powdery and granular material treating apparatus wherein a powdery or granular material is contained in a rotary drum and the rotary drum is rotated about a horizontal axis to thereby coat the powdery or granular material. Ventilating perforations are formed on the entire surface or portions of the outer periphery of the rotary drum and drying air is fed to or exhausted from the rotary drum through these ventilating perforations. This powdery and granular material treating apparatus includes: seal plates for sealing drying air fed into the rotary drum; circular sliding frames provided on the sides of the outer periphery of the rotary drum, the outer surfaces of said sliding frames being in sliding contact with the seal plates at portions, through which air is fed to or exhausted from the rotary drum; and partition plates provided on the side of the outer periphery of the rotary drum at positions spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the rotary drum from one another. The rotary drum, sliding frames, partition plates and seal plates are housed in an outer casing.

Apparatus for treating powdery and granular material

A delivery unit of plant tissue of the present invention comprises a vessel in which meristematic tissue having the ability to grow into an entire plant body through differentiation is received. The body of the vessel is made of water-soluble substance and the interior thereof is covered with a water-insoluble substance. Hydrogel is charged in the vessel and the meristematic tissue is held by the hydrogel in a state in which its root or rooting portion is embedded therein or it is placed on the hydrogel. The vessel has a structure of a closed type with a cap or an open type. When the delivery unit of plant tissue is seeded in a medium, the water-soluble substance of the vessel body is dissolved by water contained in the medium and the bud and root grown out of the meristematic tissue breaks the thin film made of a water-insoluble substance which is provided in the interior of the vessel so as to further grow out.

Delivery unit of plant tissue

A method in which a plant meristematic tissues which retain aqueous liquid on their surfaces are mixed with fine powder, thereby forming powder-coated bodies to which fine powder is adhered at the periphery thereof, so that meristematic tissues are separated from each other. A quantity of water or a liquid mainly consisting of water large enough to make fine powder adhere to the surfaces of the meristematic tissues which can grow into entire plant bodies directly or after they have passed through differentiation and organogenesis. The meristematic tissues are mixed with the fine powder which does not indicate adhesiveness at least during the mixing process. This mixing process is effected in such a manner that the powder is adhered to the tissues by gently shaking or agitating them without applying excessive shearing stress to the meristematic tissues.

An apparatus for coating pharmaceutical tablets or the like with other material such as sugar or the like. The apparatus includes a cylindrical rotary drum in which the tablets are charged and tumbled, and at least one perforated area for ventilating hot gas or the like so as to dry the sugar coated on the tablets. The perforated area of the drum is covered by a baffle plate. The leading edge of the baffle plate is in contact with the inner surface of the drum, and the trailing edge of the baffle plate forms a ventilating opening through which the hot gas flows. The side edges of the baffle plate is provided with side plates. The ventilating opening is provided with a ventilating plate.

Tablet coating apparatus

A machine for use in granulation, coating, mixing, drying etc. of powdery or granular raw materials such as medicine or foods etc. The machine is comprised of a casing for containing raw materials, a rotator for tumbling and giving centrifugal force to the material in the casing rotatable horizontally in the casing and at least one disintegrator provided above the rotator for subdividing undesirously large particles. At least one agitator is provided above the rotator for agitating and kneading materials to be granulated or coated. The rotator is movable or fixed in vertical position, and an annular slit is formed between an annular slit forming ring or inner wall of the casing and outer periphery of the rotator. The slit forming ring is movable or fixed in vertical position. At least one ventilating portion is formed on at least one portion of the rotator, and a gas flow rate adjusting mechanism is provided for controlling flow rate of gas passed through the ventilating portion.

Granulating and coating machine

Coating method and apparatus, in which jet streams of a high-pressure fluid are ejected in the opposed directions into a pulverization zone in a pulverizer to hit a raw material conveyed by one of the jet streams on the other and thereby pulverize the same, the surfaces of particles of the resultant raw material are coated at the same time that the pulverization is done. The raw material to be pulverized is fed into the pulverization zone with a jet stream or by a mechanical means to be then accelerated by a jet stream therein. A coating material is fed in the same direction in which a jet stream flows, or directly into the pulverization zone.

Coating method and apparatus

A granulating and coating machine for use in granulation, coating, mixing, drying etc. of powdery or granular materials. The machine includes a casing for holding the powdery or granular raw materials, a rotator for performing granulation or coating arranged at the bottom of the casing and formed with at least one ventilating porition, an annular slit formed between the periphery of the rotator and the inner wall of the casing. A gas flow adjusting mechanism including two separated ducts for gas flow is provided in order to control independently the rate of gas fed through the ventilating portion and the slit gas fed through the slit. An agitator for agitating the powdery or granular materials and a disintegrator for breaking undesirously large particles of the powdery or granular materials may be provided above the rotator. The slit may be formed by an annular slit forming ring mounted on the inner wall of the casing. The slit forming ring may be moved vertically by a slit adjusting mechanism to change the width of the slit so as to adjust the rate of flow of the slit gas fed through the slit.

Disclosed is a process for the preparation of an activated pharmaceutical composition containing a solid drug that is scarcely soluble in water, the pharmaceutical composition being characterized in that, when it is administered orally, the drug is readily absorbed to attain its high blood concentration quickly. This process is carried out by providing a solid drug that is scarcely soluble in water, dispersing the drug in water in the presence of a water-soluble high-molecular substance to form a disperse system containing the drug in the form of finely divided particles substantially not greater than 10.mu. in diameter, and then removing the water from the disperse system.
