A motorcycle carrying a fuel tank of large capacity on a body frame, wherein the fuel tank is hung down to a position sideward of an engine and is divided in its structure to have right and left side sections, at least one of the two sections of the fuel tank being made pivotable to provide an easy access to other equipments for maintenance.

In a motorcycle, a fuel tank is mounted to a main frame extending from a head pipe to the rear of a vehicle body in such mode that the fuel tank can be mounted from and dismounted to the side of the vehicle body, and an exhaust pipe is disposed along the main frame at the same level as the fuel tank.

A front brake system for a motorcycle provided with a front suspension system comprising a link mechanism having a quadrilateral side configuration wherein an upper fork secured to the front end of a vehicle body frame so as to be pivotable to the right and left and a lower fork which supports a front wheel are interconnected through two front arms and two rear arms. The front brake system comprises a brake disk integrally fixed to the front wheel and held rotatably thereby and a brake caliper for braking the front wheel by pressing a brake pad against the brake disk, the brake caliper being disposed below the lower fork and behind a perpendicular line passing through a front wheel axle. The caliper is mounted so as to utilize space effectively and in a low position to lower the center of gravity, and a simplified anti-driving mechanism is provided.

Front brake system for motorcycles

An air intake system in a motorized cycle of the type wherein a fuel tank is disposed behind a top bridge. Within the fuel tank is formed an outside air introducing path having an opening formed in the front portion of the tank, with an air cleaner being disposed downstream of the outside air introducing path. With such arrangement, a relatively large flow of air can be introduced with a relatively small load on the air cleaner.

The mud guard system for a chain of a motorcycle in which a drive chain is made to run on both a front sprocket connected to an engine and a sprocket connected to a rear wheel at the trailing end of a rear fork, comprises a mud guard member having a cylindrical shape for allowing the chain to run therethrough and disposed at one side of the rear wheel and a link or another connecting member for coupling the mud guard member floatingly to the rear fork so that the mud guard member can move in the longitudinal direction of the chain.
