An electromagnetic relay including a body, a plurality of first surface-mount terminals projecting from the body, and at least one second terminal projecting from the body. Each first terminal includes a distal end portion adapted to be mounted on a surface of a circuit board. The second terminal includes a distal end portion adapted to be inserted into a through-hole of a circuit board. The distal end portion of the second terminal is positioned farther away from the body than the distal end portion of the first terminal.

An electromagnetic relay including a base, an electromagnet fitted to the base, and a contact section operable to open or close with an operation of the electromagnet. The base includes a retaining face firstly contacting with the yoke of the electromagnet, in an action of fitting the electromagnet to the base, and retaining the electromagnet at a predetermined height on the base as seen in a direction of the coil center axis of the electromagnet. The base also includes a guide face slidably engaged with the yoke, by shifting the yoke along the retaining face, and guiding the electromagnet in a fitting direction intersecting with the coil center axis. The retaining face and the guide face cooperate with each other to fixedly support the electromagnet at a predetermined fitting position on the base.

An electromagnetic relay including a base having a first receptacle, a second receptacle and a partition wall defining the first and second receptacles on mutually opposite sides of the partition wall. The partition wall includes a major part and an auxiliary part, the major part being provided with a local opening. An electromagnet assembly is received in the first receptacle of the base and includes an electromagnet and an armature. The armature includes an extending portion extending in a direction toward the second receptacle of the base through the local opening of the partition wall. The auxiliary part of the partition wall is disposed between the electromagnet and the extending portion of the armature. A contact section is received in the second receptacle of the base. An actuating member is arranged between the electromagnet assembly and the contact section, and includes an envelope part for enclosing at least a part of the extending portion of the armature. When the contact section is opened, the envelope part of the actuating member is supported by the auxiliary part of the partition wall.

A switch operable under a predetermined condition includes a plurality of switch parts each including a pair of reed pieces and a connecting member of an electrically conductive non-magnetic material via which the plurality of switch parts are serially connected. A complex electromagnetic relay including a plurality of relay structures configured respectively as relays independent of each other, each relay structure including an electromagnet assembly and a contact section acting to open or close in accordance with an operation of the electromagnet assembly; and a housing accommodating the relay structures in a mutually inverted orientation with contact sections of the relay structures being located alternately at opposing sides. The electromagnet assemblies in the relay structures are provided individually with bobbins supporting coils. The housing includes an enclosing wall enclosing the relay structures in an envelope-like manner and a partition wall arranged between the relay structures disposed side-by-side to separate the relay structures from each other. The bobbins of the electromagnet assemblies are fixedly attached to the enclosing wall as well as to the partition wall.

Complex electromagnetic relay

The present invention provides an electromagnetic relay that has a long service life, even when being used for interrupting high voltage, and that can be miniaturized. In this electromagnetic relay, the circuit interruption is cut-off by two or more keying circuits, which are operated by a single coil and connected in series. Thus, an amount of generated arc per keying circuit is suppressed. Consequently, the service life of the electromagnetic relay is lengthened. Moreover, the space between the contracts thereof is reduced, so that the electromagnetic relay is miniaturized. Additionally, a magnetic field for extinguishing arc is formed by a back or counter electromotive force generated when the circuit is cut-off. Thus, the generated arc is extinguished.

An electromagnetic relay including a base, an electromagnet incorporated to the base, an armature movably arranged relative to the electromagnet, and a contact section incorporated to the base to be actuated by the armature. The electromagnet includes a bobbin, a coil having a center axis and carried on the bobbin, and a pair of coil terminals mounted to the bobbin. Each of the coil terminals is provided with a first end region and a second end region, extending in respective directions transverse to each other. The coil terminals are disposed in such a manner that respective first end regions extend in a direction transverse to the center axis of the coil to project outward from the bobbin and are arranged side-by-side in a row extending substantially parallel to the center axis, and that respective second end regions extend in a direction parallel to the center axis of the coil to project outward from the bobbin and are arranged side-by-side in a row extending substantially transverse to the center axis. The opposite wire ends of the coil are connected respectively to the second end regions.
