Formulations and methods employing these formulation for fabricating an object by additive manufacturing, such as three-dimensional inkjet printing are provided. The formulations comprise at least 50 weight percents of hydrophilic curable materials, and upon curing, provide a material that is characterized by water absorbance of at least 5%, and by high HDT and impact resistance values. Objects containing cured material made of these formulations are also provided.

A method for producing a three-dimensional model via additive manufacturing includes building a green block in a layerwise manner with a powder material and a solidifiable non-powder material. The green block includes a green usable model. The solidified non-powder material is removed from the green block to extract the green usable model from the green block and the density of the green usable model is increased by applying Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP). The green usable model is then sintered to produce a three-dimensional model.

The method comprises sequentially forming a plurality of layers in a configured pattern corresponding to the shape of the object, thereby forming the object. The formation of each layer comprises dispensing at least one uncured building material, and at least partially curing the uncured building material, wherein for at least one layer, the curing is initiated at least t seconds after commencement of curing of a layer immediately preceding that layer. The t parameter is longer than the number of seconds required for the formation of the layer.
