A vehicle equipped with an automatic stop/restart system for an internal combustion engine includes a hydraulic continuously variable transmission and a parking mechanism. The continuously variable transmission changes power of the internal combustion engine using hydraulic pressure boosted by rotational driving force of the internal combustion engine. The parking mechanism holds the vehicle stationary by locking, with a locking member, the rotation of a power transmitting member between the internal combustion engine and driving wheels when a shift position is in a parking range. In an automatic stop state of the internal combustion engine, when the shift position is in the parking range and brakes are turned off, an electronic control unit executes restart if an inclination angle of the vehicle is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, and maintains the automatic stop state if the inclination angle is smaller than the predetermined value.

Automatic stop/restart system for internal combustion engine

A control device for internal combustion engine capable of continuously driving a feed pump during automatic stop of the internal combustion engine without increasing the size of a canister is provided. The control device include a fuel supply pump supplying fuel within a fuel tank to a fuel injection device, an automatic stop restarting control unit performing automatic stop of the engine during operation according to vehicle state and then performs automatic restart of the engine during automatic stop, a fuel pump control unit driving the fuel supply pump during operation or automatic stop of the engine, and an idling determination unit determining whether the fuel supply pump is in an idling state. The automatic stop restarting control unit performs automatic restart when the idling determination unit determines that the fuel pump is in the idling state during automatic stop.

Control device for internal combustion engine

A control unit for a vehicle comprises an automatic engine stop-and-restart unit for stopping the engine responsive to predefined stop conditions and for restarting the engine responsive to predefined restart conditions, and a following-cruise control unit for controlling the vehicle to follow a vehicle ahead responsive to predefined following-cruise conditions. The automatic stop-and-restart unit for stopping and restarting the engine is configured to modify at least one of the stop conditions and the restart conditions during the following-cruise control.

During a stop of the vehicle V, it is determined whether or not the braking force of the vehicle V needs to be increased (FIG.), and the hydraulic pumpis controlled according to a determination result. Further, in a case where it is determined that the braking force of the vehicle V needs to be increased, the operation of the hydraulic pumpis inhibited for a predetermined time period during cranking (stepsin FIG.).

Stop control system for vehicle

A stop control system for a vehicle, which is capable of positively preventing movement of a vehicle by positively increasing a braking force of the vehicle during an idle stop. In the stop control system for a vehicle of the present invention, the engineis cranked by a starter motorusing power supplied from the batterywhen restart conditions are satisfied during an idle stop (stepin FIG.). Further, the stop control system includes a hydraulic pumpdriven by power supplied from the battery, for increasing the braking force of the vehicle V. During a stop of the vehicle V, when it is determined that the braking force of the vehicle V needs to be increased (F_BFREQ=1), the hydraulic pumpis activated. Further, if the restart conditions are satisfied during operation of the hydraulic pump, the cranking is inhibited to continue the operation of the hydraulic pump(stepstoin FIG.).

Provided are a vehicle configured such that if idling does not automatically stop, an in-vehicle display will occur immediately if a malfunction is the cause, thereby enabling a driver to have peace of mind and concentrate on driving, without giving the driver an unnecessary sense of unease; a vehicle diagnostic system therefor; and a vehicle diagnostic method. The vehicle comprises an idle stop error display unit provided corresponding to a specific ECU among a plurality of ECUs, and that indicates that an idle stop malfunction has occurred, being a malfunction corresponding to a second IS malfunction code, when a malfunction has occurred within a control target range for any among the plurality of ECUs, said malfunction recording the second IS malfunction code which does not cause the operation of a warning light requesting inspection or repair of an error that has occurred inside the vehicle.

A vehicle stop control system capable of finely and properly determining traveling of a vehicle in a traffic jam to permit or inhibit automatic stop according to the determination result to ensure the effect of fuel economy improvement by automatic stop and avoiding inconveniences caused by frequent execution of automatic stop and restart. The system sets a precondition vehicle speed satisfaction flag to 1 when a vehicle speed becomes not lower than a precondition speed after an internal combustion engine was automatically stopped to permit automatic stop. Further, time after the vehicle speed passed a jam determination speed and until the vehicle speed passes the same again is acquired as passing time. When the passing time is shorter than a predetermined time period, the system determines that the vehicle is traveling in a jam, and resets the flag to 0 to inhibit automatic stop.

A fuel injection control system for an internal combustion engine includes an ECU which carries out adherent fuel-dependent correction by calculating an amount of fuel to be injected into the intake passage such that a sum of a direct supply amount of fuel directly drawn into the combustion chamber of the engine without adhering to the wall surface of the intake passage out of a whole amount of fuel injected into the intake passage, and a carried-off amount of fuel carried off the wall surface of the intake passage into the combustion chamber out of fuel adhering to the wall surface of the intake passage is equal to a required fuel amount for the engine. The starting condition of the engine is detected by sensors, and operation of the adherent fuel-dependent correction control is limited during the starting condition of the engine. The carried-off fuel amount is set to a predetermined value, based on at least one operating parameter of the engine when the engine has shifted from the starting condition to the basic operating condition after starting.

Fuel injection control system for internal combustion engines

A device for detecting abnormality of the fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine inhibits supply of evaporative fuel to the intake passage when the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient becomes smaller than a predetermined value, and thereafter determines that the fuel supply system is normal when the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient increases above the predetermined value as a result of the inhibition of the supply of the evaporative fuel. The supply of the evaporative fuel to the intake passage is resumed after the determination that the fuel supply system is normal has been made. Determination of abnormality of the fuel supply system is inhibited after resuming of the supply of the evaporative fuel until the engine enters a predetermined operating condition in which the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient has increased. The determination of abnormality of the fuel supply system is permitted to be resumed, based on the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient when the engine has entered the predetermined operating condition.

Device for detecting abnormality of fuel supply system of internal

An air-fuel ratio sensor deterioration-detecting system for an internal combustion engine includes a catalytic converter arranged in the exhaust system, first and second air-fuel ratio sensors arranged in the exhaust system at respective locations upstream and downstream of the catalytic converter, and an ECU which calculates a value of a first control parameter, based on an output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor, and executes air-fuel ratio feedback control, based on the calculated value of the first control parameter. A value of a second control parameter to be used for calculating the value of the first control parameter is calculated based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor. Whether the second air-fuel ratio sensor is deteriorated is determined based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor. A value of at least one of the first and second control parameters is increased when a variation in the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor is small during execution of the air-fuel ratio feedback control, and it is determined that the second air-fuel ratio sensor is deteriorated when the variation in the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor is continuously small over a predetermined time period after the value of the at least one of the first and second control parameters has been increased.
