The present invention provides determinate, delayed-ripening cherry tomato plants. The plants are hybrids, such as line 94478 (ATCC Accession No. 97315), derived from the determinate, non-ripening parental line 91047-15 (ATCC Accession No. 97316).

The present invention provides novel tomato lines having disease resistance, and producing a tomato(es) having a weight of at least 140 g with high pigment and reduced blossom end scar size relative to 'Suncoast'. Due to the reduced blossom end scar size, the tomatoes of the present invention have an increased marketable yield relative to 'Suncoast'.

A method is disclosed for forming haploid tomato plants. Plants so formed are normal, flowering plants but are sterile. Methods are taught of doubling the chromosome number of the haploid plants to form fetile, true breeding diploid tomato plants. Such methods are useful in plant breeding programs to produce new assortments of genes in true-breeding lines without the several backcrossing steps otherwise required.
