An induction cooking system including a first shell including a first housing, a first plate coupled to the first housing, and a first induction coil within the first housing. The induction cooking system also includes a second shell coupled to the first shell, the second shell including a second housing, a second plate coupled to the second housing, and a second induction coil within the second housing. The induction cooking system further includes a first temperature sensor for sensing a first plate temperature, a second temperature sensor for sensing a second plate temperature, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive the first plate temperature, receive the second plate temperature, adjust a first current supply to the first induction coil based on the first plate temperature, and adjust a second current supply to the second induction coil based on the second plate temperature.

Induction-based food holding/warming system and method with height adjustment mechanism

A system and method for measuring the temperature of cookware to be induction-heated, using an infrared temperature sensor. An induction heater countertop may include a viewing window between the infrared temperature sensor and the cookware. Various algorithms may be applied to the sensed temperature, to adjust it to account for the presence of the viewing window, as well as variations in the cookware material.

The one or more side walls define a well above the base surface. The well is configured to receive a vessel disposed above the base surface. The induction coil is disposed within the base. The induction coil defines a first surface that is disposed below the base surface. The induction coil also defines a second surface that is disposed opposite from the first surface. The induction coil further defines an aperture disposed adjacent to the window and extending from a first surface toward a second surface of the induction coil. The infrared temperature sensor is disposed adjacent to the window and within the aperture.

Infrared temperature sensing in induction cooking systems

A system for holding and warming food includes a container for holding and warming food. The container consists of 300-series stainless steel. The system further includes an induction heating unit with an induction heating circuit for induction heating the container. The induction heating circuit includes a 120 volt induction coil having 40 or more turns. The induction heating circuit operates at a frequency greater than 30 kilohertz.

A system and method for holding and warming food held in pans or trays having a low relative magnetic permeability, such as 300-series stainless steel, using induction heating.

The preferred trivet insulates the countertop against damages, and also includes circuitry enabling the indication or display of its proper positioning on the countertop, and also indicating whether the heating unit is heating the heat retention object.

Food warming device and system

A power transfer system for imparting power to at least one functional element, such as a movable glass-containing functional element, such as a sliding glass door. The power transfer system preferably includes a magnetic induction power transfer mechanism with a power transfer circuit having first and second separated coils, and a resonant circuit power driver having a resonant frequency. The power transfer mechanism is designed to apply power to the functional element and/or to other devices or systems connected to it. The power transfer system may include an electronic feedback mechanism with an electronic feedback circuit for sensing a predetermined condition concerning the functional element. To take one example, the electronic feedback circuit may be used to provide safety door detection feedback by sensing the position of a movable glass portion of sliding glass doors, and by relaying a feedback signal, which may be carried by a light wave, to the power transfer mechanism if the movable glass portion of the doors is determined to be in a closed position. A data link may be used to communicate information between the power transfer circuit and the functional element.

Wireless power transfer system for glass

A hierarchical directional internet-oriented ad-hoc network, defined by a software infrastructure, is composed of fixed gateway nodes and a plurality of wireless nodes, which may be fixed or mobile, and which may act as subscribers, routers, or both. The infrastructure hierarchy is defined by the hop count of each node (distance of that node to a fixed gateway node). The software infrastructure includes two tables associated with each node in the network: the upstream routing table which provides shortest routes to fixed gateway nodes through upstream neighbors, and the downstream routing table which provides shortest routes to subscribers through downstream neighbors. These two tables are used by routing algorithms. A peer table can also be used for alternate routes. The maintenance of the aforementioned tables is performed by autonomous algorithms operating locally on each node by receiving and processing signals from their neighbors.

Internet-oriented ad-hoc network

A method and apparatus for controlling telecommunications call processing is disclosed. In a switching system, a Master Controller is provided for maintaining the database of the system, and for receiving call processing control messages. The Master Controller receives these messages via a core switching fabric network of the switching system. The Master Controller selects one of a plurality of feature processors, the feature processors being of several types for processing different features, to process the received call processing message. The Master Controller, if necessary, transmits not only the call processing message, but also state information about the call to the selected feature processor. The feature processor processes the message, and returns call state update data to the Master Controller. The feature processor also transmits messages for controlling other units in order to implement the desired response to the received call processing message. Advantageously, the centralized Master Controller allows a plurality of different types of feature processors to be used, and maintains a record of which feature processors are performing properly so that call control messages are only sent to working feature processors. Advantageously, a single database (duplicated for reliability), is maintained for a plurality of different types of feature processors.

Master controller for a flexible switching system

This invention relates to apparatus and a method for controlling a Digital Access and Crossconnect System (DACS) from a connected toll switching system. All control messages from operations support systems (OSS) for making crossconnect changes in the DACS are first routed to the toll switch. The toll switch extracts information needed to update its database and sends a control message to the DACS. In addition, the toll switch responds to changes in traffic patterns, perhaps due to the loss of a transmission facility, to generate a crossconnect change message to the DACS to rearrange facilities for more optimum performance. Advantageously, the OSSs for DACS control and switch control is combined and the toll network is made more responsive to traffic pattern changes and to losses of transmission facilities. Also disclosed are embodiments where a DACS interconnection arrangement is integrated into a switching system, under a common control structure, in a local, central office wire center, and an embodiment where the interconnection arrangement is implemented using add/drop multiplexers connected in a fiber ring in a distributed architecture rather than using a DACS.

Method and apparatus for controlling a digital crossconnect system from

A communications network having a multiport data conference system is disclosed. The data conference system includes a multilevel processor arrangement with the lower level port processors communicating directly with data terminals and higher level processors controlling conference configuration. Data to be conferenced is put in a buffer memory which is shared by all levels of processors. The ports can be configured to be compatible with different type terminals that operate at different data speeds.
