A system and method for designating or tagging an electronic message, such as an email that includes feedback about an employee's performance. The tagged email can then be automatically embedded within, or otherwise associated with, a performance management document such as a performance review. An example method includes providing a user interface display screen, whereby a user may view contents of an electronic message; providing a first user option, in association with the user interface display screen, to selectively designate the electronic message for a predetermined purpose and providing a signal in response thereto; and associating the electronic message with a document in response to the signal in accordance with a designation of the electronic message. In a specific embodiment, the designation of the electronic message includes a feedback designation, such that the electronic message is designated as a feedback message. The feedback message represents unsolicited feedback. The step of associating includes embedding the electronic message in the document, which may include a performance review document.

Performance management system using unsolicited feedback

A system and method for encouraging the exchange of feedback in an enterprise. An example method includes providing one or more user interface controls for configuring a feedback reminder to automatically include predetermined insight pertaining to a potential participant in a future feedback exchange; sending the feedback reminder to a messaging system or application; providing a user option to view content of the feedback reminder; and displaying the feedback reminder in response to user selection of the first user option. Another user option enables selection of particular insight, derived from a talent management system, for inclusion in the feedback reminder. The messaging system may include an email application or an application for displaying a worklist.

System for providing goal-triggered feedback

A system to create tags for tag cloud displays includes an authentication service to authenticate a user. The system includes a set of valid resources stored in a database system. A tag creation tool permits the authenticated user to create at least one tag that serves to identify a selected resource within the set of valid resources. Each tag includes a weighted value. Each tag may include a public attribute that indicates that the tag is accessible to authenticated users and non-authenticated users. Alternatively, each tag may include a private attribute that indicates that the tag is only accessible to the authenticated user. A user interface displays tags in a tag cloud in accordance with attributes of the tags and weighted values of the tags.
