Systems and methods are disclosed to update ads on user devices that may connect to a network only intermittently by predicting and tracking various metrics associated with ads delivered to the user devices. An example method may include determining a first set of ads that were presented at a first semi-connected device while the first semi-connected device was disconnected from a network, determining a first device identifier associated with the first semi-connected device, and determining, based at least in part on the first device identifier, a first estimated number of ad impressions for a first ad. Example methods may include determining, based at least in part on the first estimated number of ad impressions, that the first semi-connected device is to be updated with the first ad, causing the first ad to be sent to the first semi-connected device, and causing at least one ad of the first set of ads to be removed from the first semi-connected device.

Advertisement metric prediction

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for estimating impressions for a digital out of home (DOOH) advertising spaces (e.g., digital billboards and screens). A DOOH advertising system may determine the location of relevant DOOH advertising spaces and the location of certain consumers with known attributes and a known location. Based on this information the DOOH advertising system may estimate a number of impressions for a given DOOH advertising space and a given consumer segment associated with attributes of consumers within a certain distance from the DOOH advertising space. Using this information, the DOOH advertising spaces having the highest estimated impressions for a given consumer segment may be identified.

Systems and methods for selecting, storing, and displaying content items are provided, in which complex content selection logic is performed at a content provider environment (i.e., server-side) and selected content items are transmitted to and stored locally at a client device. Thus, the client device can quickly load a content item for display when a content display opportunity occurs, rotating through the stored content items with relatively simple logic. The client device may transmit a request to the content provider for more content if the amount of available content items is below a threshold. The content provider then runs content selection logic designated for the specific client device and selects one or more new content items to transmit to the client device.
