A method for controlling an induction heating cooking apparatus, comprises the steps of a) transforming a supply current (I) having a base frequency, for example 50 Hz or 60 Hz, into an induction current (I) having a higher frequency than the base frequency of the supply current, b) feeding the induction current into at least one inductor of the induction heating cooking apparatus to generate a magnetic induction field, c) detecting a deviation or distortion of the actual shape or frequency spectrum of the supply current or a rectified supply current from a predetermined admissible shape or frequency spectrum lying outside of a pre-given tolerance range, d) adapting the induction current or the electrical power associated with the induction current until the detected deviation or distortion of the actual shape or frequency spectrum of the supply current or a rectified supply current from the predetermined shape or frequency spectrum lies within the pre-given tolerance range again.

Method and device for controlling an induction heating cooking apparatus

The present invention relates to a method for controlling a cooking device, in particular an induction hob. The method comprises the steps of activating an overload power (P) for at least one electric or electronic component of the cooking device by using at least two synchronized generators, which overload power (P) is greater than a standard maximum power (P), deactivating the overload power (P) after a predetermined period (&#x394;t), and operating the cooking device at a power (P), which is at most the standard maximum power (P). The standard maximum power (P) is provided for a permanent operation of the cooking device. The overload power (P) and/or the period (&#x394;t) are determined by a function depending on at least the overload power (P) and the period (&#x394;t). The present invention relates further to a corresponding apparatus for controlling a cooking device, in particular an induction hob.

The present invention relates to a detection circuit for detecting that a power supply unit is connected to a wrong supply voltage. Said detection circuit comprises a first voltage divider () connected to the output terminals () of a rectifier () of the power supply unit, a second voltage divider () connected to a first power input terminal () of the power supply unit and to one of the output terminals () of the rectifier (), and a circuit breaker () connected to the first power input terminal () of the power supply unit and to an input terminal of the rectifier (), wherein at least one partial voltage of each voltage divider () is used a signal () for identifying the wrong supply voltage. The invention relates further to a method for detecting that a power supply unit is connected to a wrong supply voltage.

The present invention relates to a system for processing a signal from an electric device, e.g. a touch sensitive key. The system comprises a reference value for the signal, wherein said reference value is continuously updated, and an arithmetic unit for determining a difference value between the signal and the reference value, so that difference value corresponds with a change of the signal. The system comprises further a spectrum of the possible difference values, wherein said spectrum is subdivided into ranges corresponding with possible causations for the change of the signal in said system. Additionally, the system comprises a comparing unit for associating the difference value with the corresponding range of the spectrum and for identifying, if the difference value results from a disturbance or from a relevant change in the electric device. Further, the present invention relates to a corresponding method.
