Therapeutic extracellular vesicles (EVs) containing high copies of functional nucleic acids and other biomolecules are produced in large quantities by laying donor cells on a surface of a chip, adding various plasmids, other transfection vectors and their combinations to a buffer on the chip, applying a pulsulatic electric field across the cells laid on top of the chip surface and plasmids/vectors buffer solution below the chip surface, and collecting the EVs secreted by the transfected cells. The chip surface has a three-dimensional (3D) nanochannel electroporation (NEP) biochip formed on it, capable of handling large quantities of the donor cells. The buffer is adapted for receiving plasmids and other transfection vectors.

Method for producing therapeutic exosomes from nanoelectroporation and other non-endocytic cell transfection

The present invention discloses a method of detecting the presence of mutated genes, mRNAs or microRNAs in a subject. The method comprises the following steps: (1) Provide a body fluid sample containing cells, circulating tumor cells (CTCs), and/or extracellular vesicles (EVs); and use an analyzer having overhang molecular beacons to measure fluorescence signals generated by interactions between the body fluid sample and the overhang molecular beacons, so as to detect the presence of the mutated genes, mRNAs or microRNA. Furthermore, a biochip comprising a gold coating substrate and tethered lipoplex nanoparticles encapsulating the overhang molecular beacons is also provided in the invention.

Disclosed herein are compositions and methods that involve using compositions containing one or more of ETV2, FOXC2, FLI1 and a miR-200b inhibitor for directly reprogramming somatic cells into induced vasculogenic cells both in vitro and in vivo. These compositions and methods are useful for a variety of purposes, including the development of pro-angiogenic therapies.

Polymer foam and a method for preparing the same are disclosed. In the present disclosure, the method sequentially comprises the following steps: providing a polymer body; performing a pressure-induced flow (PIF) process on the polymer body at a first predetermined temperature and a first predetermined pressure for a pressure holding time, to obtain a polymer sheet; and performing a foaming process on the polymer sheet by using a foaming agent at a second predetermined temperature and a second predetermined pressure for a saturation time, to obtain polymer foam.

Polymer foam and method for preparing the same

A simple and low cost method of producing sealed arrays of laterally ordered nanochannels interconnected to microchannels of tunable size, over large surface areas, is disclosed. The method incorporates DNA combing and subsequent imprinting. Associated micro and macroscale inlets and outlets can be formed in the same process or manufactured later in low cost, non-cleanroom techniques. The techniques embrace two procedures, generating DNA nanostrands and translating these strands into nanoscale constructs via imprinting. Devices incorporating the novel arrays have a first microchannel, a second microchannel and a nanochannel that is substantially linear and which defines an axis. The nanochannel is connected at its open ends to the microchannels, which are aligned along the axis. Suspension polymerization and foaming of water containing activated carbon-nano/microparticulate polymer composites

Novel, simple methods are presented directed to the synthesis of aligned nanofibers of polyaniline and substituted derivatives on a substrate. The production of these fibers is achieved via various methods by controlling the concentration of aniline monomer or substituted aniline derivatives or an oxidant in the reaction medium and maintaining said concentration at a level much lower than conventional polyaniline synthesis methods. Methods are disclosed relating to the use of a permeable membrane to control the release of a monomer and/or oxidant as well as a bulk polymerization method.

Aligned nanostructured polymers

A method of producing an extrudate is disclosed in which on-line adjustments are made to size and shape deviations by varying the temperature conditions in the extruder and by varying the relative speeds along the extrusion line. The temperature conditions can be adjusted by varying the temperature of the stock while maintaining a fixed relationship of the die temperature to the stock temperature to produce deviations in the thickness of the extrudate with respect to the width of the extrudate, and by varying the temperature of the die with respect to the temperature in the stock to produce variations in different thicknesses of the extrudate. The relative speeds along the extrusion line can be varied by changing the speed of the screw in a cold-feed extruder, by changing the feed rate for a hot-feed extruder, or by changing the speed of the take-away device which regulates the speed by which the extrudate is taken away from the extruder.
