A composition for bonding includes tin, germanium, and nickel. A contained amount of germanium is less than or equal to 10 mass %. A contained amount of nickel in mass % is less than or equal to a product of 2.8 multiplied by a term that is the contained amount of germanium in mass % to the power of 0.3.

The invention seeks to increase the sealing property and the reliability of an electronic device by suppressing cracks, fractures and the like of a glass substrate at the time of laser sealing. A glass substratehas a sealing region. On the sealing region, a sealing material layercomprising a glass material for sealing containing a low-expansion filler and a laser absorbent is provided. The glass material for sealing contains no low-expansion filler particles having particle sizes exceeding the thickness T of the sealing material layerand contains low-expansion filler particles having particle sizes within a range of from 0.5T to 1T based on the thickness T of the sealing material layerin a volume ratio of from 0.1 to 50%. A deflection apparatus for cathode ray tube is provided, which comprises deflection yoke with guide grooves, deflection windings for scanning in one direction in said grooves, deflection windings for scanning in the other direction and an insulator between both types of windings. It attains high accuracy deflection with less distortion without any induced heating problem due to protuberances made relatively between grooves.
