A shift device includes an output shaft, a hub, a speed gear, a sleeve, a synchronizer ring, lever members, and a spring. The lever members have torque receiving portions contactable with projections of the synchronizer ring to receive friction torque from the projections. Contact positions of the torque receiving portions and the projections in a synchronization operation are set at a hub side of the lever members and an axial-directional distance between points of support and the contact positions is less than a thickness of the lever member.

Shift device with synchronizer

A shift device has lever members arranged between a sleeve, a hub, and synchronizer rings to amplify and transmit pressing force of the sleeve to one of the synchronizer ring. The lever members include a top portion and arm portions at the both sides of the top portion. The lever members are provided with a torque receiving surface capable of receiving friction torque from projections of the synchronizer rings on an intermediate portion of each arm portion between the top portion and a second slide surface provided on each end of the arm portions.

A shift device has lever members. These top portions engage with cut-off portions of a hub, being inserted in a groove portion of a shift sleeve. Slanted surfaces of the sleeve contact with the top portions to be capable of transmitting axial pressing force on the pressure-receiving surfaces of the ring. Friction torque acts on the members through first projections of the ring. The members has first slide surfaces contactable with first guide surfaces of the hub at both end portions in a rotational direction of the top portions, and second slide surfaces contactable with second guide surfaces of the hub at both end portions of the members.

A shift device has lever members arranged between a sleeve, a hub, and synchronizer rings to amplify and transmit pressing force of the sleeve to at least one of the synchronizer rings. The lever members include first lever members for a first one of the synchronizer rings, and second lever members for a second one of the synchronizer rings. The first lever members and the second lever members are alternately arranged at two sides of the hub with a phase shift in a rotational direction.

A drive device for a hybrid electric vehicle includes a power splitting gear set including a first planetary gear set having three rotatable elements of a first sun gear, a first ring gear and a first pinion carrier, and first and second motors/generators. An input shaft is connectable with the first ring gear. The output shaft is connected with the first pinion carrier. The first motor/generator is connected with the first sun gear. The second motor/generator is connectable with the output shaft and the first ring gear. The first ring gear is capable of being fixed to a stationary part.

Drive device for hybrid electric vehicle

A shift device includes a shaft, a hub, a sleeve, a pair of speed gears sandwiching the hub, a first synchronizer ring, a second synchronizer ring, a plurality of thrust pieces disposed in cut-off portions of the hub and a pair of springs pushing the thrust pieces outwardly in a radial direction toward the sleeve. The thrust pieces move together with the sleeve when the sleeve is moved toward the one of the speed gears, while the thrust pieces moves inwardly in the radial direction against the first and second springs when the sleeve is moved halfway toward the other of the speed gears so that the thrust pieces move in an axial direction and swing to provide different self-servo functions according to the above shift directions when they contact with the hub.

Shift device adapted for transmission

A sleeve has splines formed with a groove, a high-speed-stage slanting surface and a turn-off slanting surface. A synchronizer ring has splines and first projecting portions. Lever members are arranged among the sleeve, the hub and the synchronizer ring to transmit pushing force from the sleeve to the synchronizer ring. The synchronizer ring is pushed against a speed gear to generate frictional torque, being pushed by the lever members pressed by a high-speed-stage slanting surface. The lever members turn over and transmit pushing force applied from a turn-over slanting surface to the synchronizer ring so as to press a frictional surface against a cone surface to synchronize them when the sleeve moves in a direction opposite to the speed gear. A diameter of the first inner diameter portion is set larger than that of the second inner diameter portion.

A gear has a hub with cut-off portions and outer splines as one unit. Thrust pieces are inserted in the cut-off portions for transmitting thrust between a shift sleeve and a synchronizer ring. The gear has a flange portion formed with supporting holes corresponding to the cut-off portions provided with a force-amplifying slope at synchronized member sides thereof. First end portions of the thrust pieces are inserted in the supporting holes. Second end portions thereof are formed with a side end surface for receiving friction torque from the synchronizer ring and with a pressure-receiving slope for transmitting the friction torque to the force-amplifying slope. The thrust pieces swing around centers in the supporting holes so that the second end portions swing in a rotational direction to contact the pressure-receiving slopes with the force-amplifying slopes to change the friction torque to the thrust acting on the synchronizer ring.

A shift device includes a hub, a sleeve splined with the hub, and a pair of speed gears sandwiching the hub. Thrust pieces are respectively inserted in the concave portions of the sleeve and movable in the notches of the hub in an axial direction, and formed with slanted surfaces on their outer circumference for contacting with slanted surfaces of the sleeve, and contact with projections of synchronizer rings so that the thrust pieces can move around the projections and push the projections in the axial direction. The thrust pieces are also formed with projecting portions at their four edges, seen from an outside of the hub in a radial direction, the projecting portions being formed with slanted surfaces corresponding to the slanted surfaces of the hub.

Shift device with synchronizer adapted for transmission

A shift device includes a hub, a sleeve splined with the hub, a pair of speed gears located at both sides of the hub, and a pair of synchronizer rings arranged between the hub and the speed gears. Thrust pieces are respectively engageable with projections of the sleeve and movable in notch portions of the hub in an axial direction the shift device. The thrust pieces are formed with first slanted surfaces pressable on chamfers of the synchronizer rings and second slanted surfaces contactable with slanted surfaces of the hub. The thrust pieces engage and move together with the sleeve in the axial direction when the first slanted surfaces press the chamfers of the synchronizer ring and are disengaged from the sleeve before the splines of the sleeve and the speed gear are engaged.

A multi-speed automatic transmission includes a first planetary gear set and a second planetary gear set, which are arranged in parallel on a first output shaft and a second output shaft, respectively. An input shaft is connectable with a first ring gear through first input drive and driven gears of the input shaft and the first output shaft, being connectable with a second pinion carrier through a second input drive and driven gears of the input shaft and the second output shaft. The first output shaft is connectable with a first pinion carrier, the second output shaft being connectable with a second ring gear. A second pinion carrier is fixable to a transmission case. The first and second sun gears are connectable with the input shaft through the first input drive and driven gears and through the intermediate gear, being fixable to the transmission case.

Multi-speed automatic transmission adapted for motor vehicle

A multi-speed automatic transmission includes an input shaft, a first out put shaft having a first planetary gear set, and a second output shaft having a second planetary gear set. The shafts are in parallel with one another. The input shaft is engageable with the first ring gear and the second carrier. The first output shaft is engageable with the first carrier. The second output shaft is engageable with the second ring gear. The first and the second sun gears are engaged with an intermediate gear which can be held to a transmission case by a first brake arranged between the intermediate gear and the first and second planetary gear sets, and being connectable with the input shaft via the input drive gear and the first input driven gear. The second carrier can be held to the transmission case.

Multi-speed automatic transmission for motor vehicle

A pair of first speed gears () is provided between a first input shaft () and a first output shaft (), and a pair of fourth speed gears () is provided between a second input shaft () and the first output shaft. A pair of third speed gears () and a pair of fifth speed gears () are provided between the first input shaft and a second output shaft (), and a pair of second speed gears () and a pair of sixth speed gears () are provided between the second input shaft and the second output shaft. A backward input gear () integrated with the first input shaft and a backward output gear () provided on the first output shaft are connected to each other via idler gears () disposed on a sub shaft (). By this arrangement the length in an axial direction of the transmission is made short.

Twin-clutch transmission

A variable valve timing device, adapted for an internal combustion engine, includes a cam shaft having a first cam surface, a rocker arm rotatably supporting a first roller and enabling a valve to be opened by its swing movement when the first roller is pressed, a drive link rotatably supporting a second roller and moving to drive a connecting pin when the second roller is pressed by the first cam surface, a swing cam having a second cam surface and being swingable at a center of a stationary support shaft, when it is pressed by the drive link through the connecting pin, so that the second cam surface presses the first roller, and an actuator for changing a position of a third cam surface to vary a position of the drive link.

Variable valve timing device adapted for internal combustion engine

A variable valve timing device includes a cam shaft, a rocker arm rotatably supporting the first roller and enabling a valve to be opened by a swing movement thereof when a first roller is pressed, a swing cam with a second cam surface, and an actuator for controlling the support shaft to move along a circular arc with a center at a center of the first roller in a valve-open state. The swing cam is swingable at a center of the support shaft, when a second roller is pressed by the cam shaft, so that the second cam surface presses the first roller. A contact position, between the first cam surface and the second roller, moves in a direction opposite to a rotational direction of the cam shaft when the support shaft is moved in a direction where a maximum lift amount of the valve becomes smaller.
