The present invention relates to the field of nutrition; in particular to the prevention and/or treatment of malnutrition. One embodiment of the present invention relates to a nutritional composition enriched in cysteine for use in the treatment and/or prevention of malnutrition and disorders related thereto. Such a composition may in particular, but not exclusively, be useful for the elderly population.

Cysteine and food intake

The present invention generally relates to the field of the immune system, in particular to strengthening the immune system of the elderly. One embodiment of the present invention relates to the use of a food product enriched with sialic acid for the preparation of a composition to strengthen the immune system.

The present invention relates in general to the field of inflammation. In particular the present invention relates to the use of natural compounds for the preparation of a product to treat or prevent inflammation. For example an extract of wolfberry was shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. One embodiment of the present invention relates to the use of a primary composition comprising wolfberries or a part thereof for the preparation of a product to treat or prevent inflammation.

The present invention generally relates to the field of nutrition and health. In particular, the present invention provides a composition that can be used to maintain or improve thymus health. One embodiment of the present invention is the use of whey or at least one protein fraction thereof for the preparation of a composition to maintain or improve thymus function.

The present invention pertains to osteoprotegerin obtainable from milk sources, in particular human and bovine milk. The present invention also relates to the use thereof for preparing an ingestible preparation and/or a pharmaceutical composition, in particular to the use of such a preparation/composition for preventing or treating disorders associated with bone metabolism and immune function.
