A method for forming a print obtained by transferring a transfer layer from which a removal region has been accurately removed onto a transfer receiving article and a method for peeling off a transfer layer by which a removal region of the transfer layer can be accurately removed. The method for forming a print comprises, by using a transfer film in which a transfer layer is provided on one surface of a support, a thermal transfer sheet in which a peel-off layer is provided on one surface of a substrate, and a transfer receiving article, a step of removing a removal region of the transfer layer of the transfer film by means of the peel-off layer of the thermal transfer sheet and a step of transferring the transfer layer from which the removal region has been removed onto the transfer receiving article.

Method for forming print, method for peeling off transfer layer, and thermal transfer printer

A sublimation thermal transfer sheet having first, second, and third dye layers frame sequentially provided on a surface of a substrate in this order, and a back-face layer provided on another surface of the substrate. The first, second, and third dye layers contain an each individual sublimable dye and an each individual binder resin. One of the first and second dye layers further contains a releasing agent selected from a first group consisting of silicone oils, silicone-modified resins and phosphoric esters, and another dye layer further contains either one or both of at least a releasing agent selected from the first group and a cellulosic resin. The third dye layer (1) contains no releasing agent of the first group, or (2) contains the releasing agent at an amount of not more than 0.3% by weight based on the total weight of the solid content of the third dye layer.

Sublimation type thermal transfer sheet

There is provided a transfer sheet with improvement in smudges and blurs of a transfer layer when printed matters are produced even after storing the transfer sheet under high temperatures. The transfer sheet according to the present invention comprises a substrate, and in the order a peel layer and a transfer layer on the substrate, wherein the peel layer contains a binder resin, a silicone oil and/or a wax component and the total contents of the silicone oil and the wax component in the peel layer is 0.1 mass % or more and 15 mass % or less, based on the solid content of mass of the binder resin.

Transfer sheet

There is provided a transfer sheet with improvement in smudges and blurs of a transfer sheet when printed matters are produced. A transfer sheet according to the present invention comprises a substrate, and in the order a peel layer and a transfer layer on the substrate, wherein the peel layer contains a binder resin containing an acrylic-based resin of more than 0 mass % and 49 mass % or less and a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate resin of 51 mass % or more and less than 100 mass %.

A front face side substrate provided between a supporting member and a receiving layer of a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet. The front face side substrate includes a front face side layer provided on one surface of a substrate layer and a rear face side layer provided on another surface of the substrate layer. The substrate layer includes (A) a propylene-based polymer, (B) calcium carbonate, and (C) titanium oxide, and the weight of (A) is 70% by weight to 94.5% by weight, the weight of (B) is 5% by weight to 28% by weight, and the weight of (C) is 0.5% by weight to 3% by weight, based on the assumption that the total weight of (A), (B) and (C) is 100% by weight. The front face side layer includes a modified propylene-based polymer, and the rear face side layer includes a propylene-based polymer.

Front face side substrate for thermal transfer image-receiving sheet, and thermal transfer sheet

The purpose is to provide a protective layer transfer sheet and an intermediate transfer medium, in which a transfer layer has excellent foil tearing property during transfer and in which sufficient durability can be imparted to the thermally transferred image. The above problem is solved by a protective layer transfer sheet () in which a transfer layer () is provided on one surface of a substrate () so as to be peelable from the substrate (), wherein the transfer layer () comprises a peeling layer () and a protective layer () which are layered in this order from the substrate; wherein the protective layer () includes an acrylic polyol resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of more than 80&#xb0; C. or a polyester polyurethane resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not less than 50&#xb0; C.; and wherein the peeling layer includes at least one selected from a group consisting of polyester resins, acrylic urethane resins, and epoxy resins.

Protective layer transfer sheet and intermediate transfer medium

The purpose is to provide a protective layer transfer sheet and an intermediate transfer medium, in which the protective layer has excellent foil tearing property during transfer and in which sufficient durability can be imparted to the thermally transferred image. The above problem is solved by a protective layer transfer sheet in which a transferable protective layer () is provided on one surface of a substrate () so as to be peelable from the substrate (), wherein the transferable protective layer () has a layered structure in which a first protective layer (A), and a second protective layer (B) which is in contact directly with the first protective layer (A), are provided in this order from the substrate (); the first protective layer contains an epoxy-cured resin in which a reactive resin having a functional group capable of reacting with an epoxy group and having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not less than 60&#xb0; C. is reacted with and cured by an epoxy curing agent; and the second protective layer (B) contains a polyester resin having a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of not less than 8000 and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not less than 45&#xb0; C.
