A device capable of transporting package sleeves in an upright position, from any of several filling lines to one or more filling machines, wherein said several filling lines are aligned parallel to each other. The device utilizes a manipulator capable of linear travel in a direction perpendicular to the plane of alignment of the filling lines, a swiveling unit for moving the package sleeves in a direction transverse to the direction of travel of the manipulator unit, and a gripper unit for gripping the package sleeves. The gripper unit is capable of supplying horizontal force to the package sleeves to enable their transport in an upright position. The gripper unit also has means to clamp to the loading magazine of the filling machine and to cause the horizontal transfer of the package sleeves thereto. By use of the present device, semi-automatic or automatic loading of package sleeves to one or more filling machines is possible.

The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the metering of a predeterminable quantity of a liquid, more particularly H.sub.2 O.sub.2, having a liquid inlet (10E), at least one metering chamber (6) and a liquid outlet (10A), in that the quantity of the liquid delivered by the apparatus always has not only an identical volume, but also identical properties. Thus more particularly in the case of gassing-out liquids, such as H.sub.2 O.sub.2, for example, it is possible to reliably ensure that a continues metering of a bubble-free liquid is rendered possible, so as not to change the concentration. This problem is solved in the apparatus according to the invention by the features that in addition to the liquid line (10) between the liquid inlet (10E) and the liquid outlet (10A), a compressed air line (11) is provided between a compressed air inlet (11E) and a compressed air outlet (11A), and at least one metering chamber can be alternately connected to the liquid line (10) and the compressed air line (11). As regard the method, the problem is solved by the following steps: The filling of at least one metering chamber (6) with a liquid, the closure of the filled metering chamber(s) (6, 6') by changing the position of the movable element (1), and the discharge of the metered quantity of liquid.

The invention relates to a filling valve on a filling and closing machine with a filling container 1 for free-flowing products, in particular foodstuffs with lumpy ingredients. In order to prevent subsequent dripping or the formation of threads during the portioned drawing off of the free-flowing products, the filling valve has, in a mouthpiece, an axially movable valve slide 9 which, in the closed portion, can be set in vibration in the axial direction. The stroke of the vibration is dimensioned in such a manner that the closing function of the valve tappet 9 is maintained.
