A plasma system includes a plasma apparatus comprising a plasma chamber and a substrate support disposed in the plasma chamber. The system includes an electromagnetic (EM) circuit block coupled to a radio frequency (RF) electrode. The EM circuit block includes a broadband RF waveform function generator, the broadband RF waveform having EM power distributed over a range of frequencies, and a broadband impedance matching network having an input coupled to an output of the broadband RF waveform function generator and an output coupled to a terminal of the RF electrode, an operating frequency range of the broadband impedance matching network including the range of frequencies. The system includes a controller programmed to adjust an input parameter of the EM circuit block.

A plasma system includes a plasma apparatus including: a plasma chamber; a pedestal configured to hold a substrate in the chamber; and a radio frequency (RF) electrode configured to excite plasma in the chamber; an electromagnetic (EM) circuit block coupled to the RF electrode, the EM circuit block including: a function generator configured to output a broadband RF waveform, the waveform having EM power distributed over a range of frequencies; a broadband amplifier coupled to an output of the function generator, an operating frequency range of the amplifier including the range of frequencies; and a broadband impedance matching network having an input coupled to an output of the broadband amplifier and an output coupled to a terminal of the RF electrode, an operating frequency range of the broadband impedance matching network including the range of frequencies; and a controller configured to adjust an input parameter of the EM circuit block.

The disclosure relates to fuel additive compositions including heavy paraffinic distillates and lighter petroleum distillates, in particular with the heavy paraffinic distillates including a mixture of hydrotreated and/or saturated components and solvent-dewaxed and/or branched components. The disclosure further relates to fuel compositions including the fuel additive composition and a liquid or solid combustible fuel. Related methods include methods of making the fuel compositions and methods of burning the fuel compositions. The resulting fuel compositions have several improved combustion properties such as improved combustion efficiency, improved combustion energy/calorie content, reduced sulfur generation, and reduced ash generation.

A system includes a plasma chamber coupled to a power source, and an impedance matching network coupled between the power source and the plasma chamber, wherein the impedance matching network comprises an L-shaped network and a first adjustable inductor coupled between an input of the plasma chamber and ground, and wherein the impedance matching network is configured such that, in a predetermined frequency range, an impedance of the impedance matching network and the plasma chamber is substantially equal to an impedance of the power source.

This invention relates to a system and method that can quickly and accurately detect and measure ethyl alcohol in the blood of a motorized vehicle driver transdermally and non-invasively within minutes of ethanol consumption and in the presence of interferents. The system includes an array of sensors embedded into the steering mechanism of a motorized vehicle, a data base of patterns produced through empirical testing of various analytes in various combinations and concentrations, neural net based pattern recognition algorithms to ascertain the driver's transdermal alcohol concentration and a database derived from human testing, correlating the driver's transdermal alcohol concentration with the driver's blood alcohol concentration. The detection system is integrated with a motor vehicle decision module which can prevent the operation of a motorized vehicle by a driver whose BAC exceeds a preset limit.

Methods and systems are described for predicting the likely causes of service outages using only time information, and for predicting and the likely costs of service outages. The likely causes are found by defining a narrow likely cause window around an outage based on service quality and/or service usage data, and correlating service events to the likely cause window in the time domain to find a probability distribution for the events. The likely costs are found by measuring usage loss and duration for a given point during an outage and using cost component functions of the time and usage to extrapolate over the outage. These cause and cost predictions supply service administrators with tools for making more informed decisions about allocation of resources in preventing and correcting service outages.

Method and system for predicting causes of network service outages using time domain correlation

A folding scaffold sign. The sign is constructed of a special honeycombed plastic material in which two sign panels are provided, separated by a fold line. The bottom corners of the panels are provided with metal legs inserted through openings forming the honeycomb structure. The legs are retained in the openings by elasticity and friction of the plastic memory material and the sign can be used as a triangular free-standing sign supported upon a floor surface, ground or the like. The sign may further be used as a cover for an existing conventional post-supported sign by placing the folded sign thereover and folding the panels together and retaining the legs in secured condition by a retaining chain. The folded-over sign may be stored in the same presentation when the panels are folded over against one another in superimposed position.

A thermally responsive valve is connected to a fire extinguisher between a pressure gauge and an extinguisher outlet to which such gauge would normally be secured. The valve includes a fitting having a passage extending therethrough so that pressure in the extinguisher may be sensed and displayed by the gauge. Detachably mounted to the fitting is a spray head having a port communicating with the passage, the port being normally sealed by a heat collecting disc. The disc is fused to the spray head by fusible material and when the environment surrounding the extinguisher reaches a predetermined temperature, the fusible material will melt thereby releasing the disc from sealing the port. The extinguisher's pressurized contents are then automatically expelled through the port for extinguishing a fire.

A combination air conditioning and fire protection system for a building including a heat exchanger through which fluid may pass under pressure, a fluid conditioning unit operable to bring fluid to a desired temperature for passing through the heat exchanger, and fluid supply and return conduits interconnecting the heat exchanger and fluid conditioning unit for circulating fluid therebetween. The supply and return conduits have discharge heads spaced therealong which are openable in case of fire to discharge fluid therefrom to extinguish a fire in the vicinity of the head. The conduits may include risers in the form of hollow, fluid-tight structural columns which also act to provide structural support for the building. Flow control devices and check valves in the system assure that pressure will be maintained in either the supply or return conduits to discharge fluid onto a fire if the other conduit is damaged and loses pressure.
