Gastrin mRNA down-regulation using either stable transfection of an antisense gastrin cDNA or one of three shRNA (short hairpin RNA) constructs achieves significant reduction in growth of human pancreatic cancer. Tumor growth rate and incidence of metastases in both wild type and transfected pancreatic cancer cells is directly proportional to the degrees of gastrin mRNA expression. In order to avoid rapid degradation of injected siRNA, nanoliposomes can be loaded with gastrin siRNA and used to deliver the siRNA to the tumors. Significant reduction of tumors in mice using siRNA loaded nanoliposomes is achieved. Uptake of pegylated nanoliposomes by tumor cells depends upon the pegylation percentage.

Composition and method for the treatment of gastrin mediated cancers

Human pancreatic cancer cells possess a distinct plasma membrane CCK receptor variant that can be differentiated from the classic CCK-B receptor with selective monoclonal antibodies. Use of this receptor may be helpful in early detection or treatment of patients with pancreatic cancer.

Identification and characterization of a specific CCK-C receptor antibody for human pancreatic cancer and its use for early detection and staging of pancreatic cancer

This disclosure concerns a vessel or housing having a removable domed cover and a horizontal partition in the housing to form separate dirty and clean liquid chambers, and having a single large vertical cylindrical pleated filter cartridge clamped against the lower side of the partition in the dirty liquid chamber in the housing. The filter cartridge has a central perforated tube which axially fits over and is spaced from a vertical outlet duct extending up from the bottom of the housing through an aperture in the partition, which aperture forms an annular opening from the interior of the filter cartridge into the clean liquid chamber in the domed cover. The lower end of the filter cartridge seals to a sleeve around the bottom of the vertical outlet duct. The seals for the top and bottom of the cartridge may comprise integral soft plastisol annuli or ring gaskets in the harder plastisol end discs which seal the ends of the pleats of the filter cartridge and the ends of its central perforated tube. The liquid to be filtered enters the housing below the partition around the outside of the filter cartridge and the filtered liquid passes through the perforated central tube of the cartridge around the outside of the vertical outlet duct up into the domed cover and then down through the vertical outlet duct. This construction insures automatic removal of any gases which may accumulate in the domed cover.

Single cartridge filter

A holder for cookbooks which will hold a cookbook above and off the counter surface in a position easily accessible for reference during cooking. The cookbook holder is formed of metal wire segments bent to shape and comprises a generally planar back frame having an upper portion and a lower portion and a pair of spaced apart sides adapted to support an open book. A ledge is connected to the lower portion of the back frame and extends generally forwardly therefrom and is adapted to support the lower edge of the book when it is resting on the back frame. Preferably, the ledge includes a lip which serves to engage the book in such a manner that it will be held open. Hook means connected to the upper end of the back frame are adapted for hooking around a vertical post or the like, such as the frame of a kitchen cabinet, a screw eye, etc. The hook means comprises a first metal rod segment connected to the back frame upper end intermediate the sides and extending generally forwardly and upwardly therefrom, a second metal rod segment connected to the first segment and extending perpendicularly thereto such that the first and second segments will follow the contour of the lower lip of the cabinet, and a third metal rod segment connected to the second segment and extending perpendicularly thereto, at least a portion of the third segment extending laterally with respect to the back frame so as to hook behind the vertical post.

Portable cook book holder

A closed filter container containing at least one filter cartridge mounted on a plate, whose periphery is clamped between the lid and rim of said container electrically isolating said cartridge and plate from the walls including the lid of the container as disclosed in applicant Harms' prior U.S. Pat. No. 3,720,322. Mounted between the plate and a wall of the container is at least one electrically conducting resilient finger which maintains electrical contact across the gasket which isolates the plate and cartridges regardless of the flexing of the plate due to variations of pressure inside the container. The plate also is provided with three handle members to facilitate removal of the plate and cartridges from the container. The three handle members also act as legs to stably support the plate and cartridges during replacement of the cartridges. Furthermore, these handles have improved configurations for both ease in handling and strengthening.

Electrically grounded filter plate

A flow divertor arrangement, especially for the downspout of roof guttering, by means of which rain water can be diverted from the downspout and collected for uses requiring soft water. The arrangement has an inoperative position in which water flows in a conventional manner in the downspout and an adjusted position in which at least a substantial portion of water flowing in the downspout is diverted to a location external of the downspout where the water can be collected for use.

A device for use with fishing tackle, and especially a device for use in removing the twist from a fishing line, and especially from a monofilament fishing line. The device comprises a body having a connector for connecting the body to the end of a fishing line with the body having rib means or fin means thereon which cause it to rotate when it is drawn through the water by the line connected thereto. The body has two points of connection and rotates in a respective direction for each point to which the line is connected. The body may be in the form of a round body and the fins may be flat fins mounted on opposite sides of the body or the body may be provided with angular grooves forming ribs on the body with the points of connection being selected with reference to the ribs to provide for a respective rotation of the body for each of the connecting points.
