A product which contains acid magnesium pyrophosphate (magnesium dihydrogen diphosphate) and at least magnesium orthophosphate, producible by removal of water from an aqueous solution or suspension of a magnesium phosphate compound which has a molar ratio of Mg:P of 0.4-0.6:I, wherein the product has a loss on ignition of 7.5 to 13.5% and its method of preparation and its use in a leavening agent for bakery products.

Iron(III) orthophosphate of the general formula FePO&#xd7;nHO (n&#x2266;2.5), prepared by a process in which iron(II)-, iron(III)- or mixed iron(II, III) compounds selected from among hydroxides, oxides, oxidehydroxides, oxide hydrates, carbonates and hydroxidecarbonates are reacted with phosphoric acid having a concentration in the range from 5% to 50%, any iron(II) present after the reaction is converted into iron(III) by addition of an oxidant and solid iron(III) orthophosphate is separated off from the reaction mixture.

A pigment for laser-writable plastic materials in the form of particulate, light-sensitive compounds which under the influence of laser light change their color and/or lead to a color change in the plastic material is characterized in that the pigments include at least one salt-like compound including at least two different cations or a compound mixture which can be reacted to afford at least one such salt-like compound with at least two different cations, wherein at least one of the cations is selected from a group (A) of the elements Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Sn, Sb, La, Pr, Ta, W and Ce and at least one further cation is selected from a group (B) of the elements of the 3rd to 6th periods of the main groups II and III, the 5th to 6th periods of the main group IV and the 4th to 5th periods of the secondary group III to VIII and the lanthanides of the periodic system of elements. The invention also includes plastic materials containing the pigment or the compound mixture.

Pigment for laser-writable plastic materials and use thereof

A laser-writable molding material containing A) at least one polymer material or at least one precursor compound which can be polymerised to give a polymer material, and B) a particulate salt-like compound or a mixture of particulate salt-like compounds, which under the influence of laser light changes its color or leads to a color change in the component A). In order to enlarge the range of matrix materials hitherto available for laser writing and to overcome the disadvantages of the previously used writing procedures for such matrix materials, the laser-writable molding material according to the invention is characterised in that the at least one polymer material of the component A) is selected from polymer compounds having siloxane crosslinking units.
