A kitchen appliance for cooling and heating foodstuff including a housing that defines a cooling and heating cavity within the housing. A container is removably mountable within the cooling and heating cavity of the housing and the container is capable of retaining foodstuff therein. A conduction plate is disposed within the housing. The conduction plate is in thermal engagement with the container when the container is mounted within the housing. A heating element is disposed within the housing and is in thermal engagement with a conduction plate to heat the cooling and heating cavity. A cooling element is disposed within the housing and is in thermal engagement with the conduction plate to cool the cooling and heating cavity.

Kitchen appliance for cooling and/or heating foodstuff

A cooking appliance for cooking a foodstuff over a period of time including a shell having a heating cavity and a heating element to heat the heating cavity. A container is removably positionable within the heating cavity and includes a food cavity for receiving the foodstuff. A temperature probe is removably insertable into the foodstuff and a controller is mounted to the shell. The controller controls operation of the cooking appliance in a probe mode wherein the temperature probe is inserted into the foodstuff and transmits foodstuff temperatures to the controller for controlling the heating of the foodstuff, a program mode wherein the controller actuates the heating element to heat the container at a temperature for a selected amount of time and subsequently at a lower temperature and a manual mode wherein the controller actuates the heating element to heat the container at a selected temperature.

Slow cooker and method of operation

A combination toaster oven and toaster appliance for cooking and heating foodstuff including a housing defining a food cavity therein and a heating element mounted in the housing for heating the food cavity. The housing includes a top wall and a front wall. A slot is located in the top wall and a door is movably mounted to the front wall. A toaster oven opening is located in the front wall and provides access to the food cavity. The door is movable between a closed position wherein the door covers the toaster oven opening and an open position wherein the door exposes the toaster oven opening and food cavity. A slot cover is movable between an extended position covering the slot and a retracted position exposing the slot.

Combination toaster oven and toaster appliance

An electric toaster with a safety shut-off mechanism includes a carriage bracket with a user-manipulated knob that is movable between an upper rest position and a lower actuation position. A food support member is supported by the carriage bracket between the upper rest position and a lower toasting position. An electromagnet is connected to one of the chassis and the carriage bracket for holding the carriage bracket in the actuation position when the electromagnet is energized. A switch is movable to a closed position upon downward movement of the carriage bracket to the actuation position to energize the electromagnet and heating elements associated with the toaster. The carriage bracket is upwardly movable upon deenergization of the electromagnet to open the switch between the actuation position and the lower toasting position to deenergize the heating elements. With this arrangement, the heating elements are deenergized while the food support member is in the lower toasting position to thereby prevent further operation of the heating elements in the event of a food jam.
