A method is provided for automatically updating a 'Real Time' Average Speed of Answer, RASA, for a number of calls received by an automatic call distributor, ACD, during a set interval. This 'real time' average speed of answer may be determined across a sliding time window via moving averages and exponential smoothing. The method includes the steps of computing a current average Speed of Answer, SA, for the number of calls received by the ACD during the set time interval, by dividing total waiting time to answer for these calls by the number of calls and scaling the current SA by a weight factor W. The real time average speed of answer, RASA, is updated by scaling a previous RASA by the unity complement of W, i.e. (1&#x2212;W), and augmenting it by the scaled current SA.

Method and apparatus for determining a real time average speed of answer in an automatic call distribution system

A call overflow system for transferring an overflow call received from a caller at an originating automatic call distributor to a destination automatic call distributor. The system includes an originating compilation portion at the originating automatic call distributor for compiling data relating to the overflow call to be transmitted to the destination automatic call distributor, the data including identification of whether the caller attempted to block a caller identification process, the overflow call being a type of telephone call wherein a call identifier is provided through the call identification process to the originating automatic call distributor and originating compilation portion even where the caller has requested a blocking of the caller identification process. The system further includes sending portion for sending the data from the originating automatic call distributor to the destination automatic call distributor and for transferring the overflow call to the destination automatic call distributor.

An automatic call distributor (20) having a multiport switch (22), a central processing unit (24) with a switch operations memory (26) for controlling the switch (22), a plurality of internal telephones (40, 40A, 40B, 40C-N) interconnectable through the multiport switch (22) to external telephones (28) of an external telephonic network (32) and a plurality of display terminals (36, 36A, 36B, 36C-N) for display of information relating to the operation of the switch (22), with an internal written message communication system (21) having an associated switch memory (46) for storing written messages (66) for display at a display terminal (36), a display screen (44) at the display terminal (36) for providing an indication of storage of a written message at the associated switch memory (46) for display at the display terminal (36) and a keyboard (42) at the display terminal (36) for electing to have the written message displayed at the display terminal (36) in lieu of information relating to the operation of the switch (22).

Automatic call distributor with internal written message communication

The invention is a removable wheel cover for an in-line-type skate. The cover includes a front boot designed to inwardly receive the skate's front wheel. The cover also includes a rear boot designed to inwardly receive the skate's rear wheel. A pair of flexible, resilient straps connect together the two boots of the cover. When not in use, the cover can be folded into a small volume and easily stored within a user's pocket.
