A component carrier system with a component carrier, a base solder mask layer formed on a surface of the component carrier, and a top solder mask layer formed on top of a predefined section of the base solder mask. The predefined section of the base solder mask covers a target section of the component carrier.

Solder mask arrangement for a component carrier

A method of processing component carriers is disclosed. The method includes providing a plurality of arrays each comprising a plurality of component carriers, providing a plurality of separator bodies, forming an alternating stack of the arrays and the separator bodies so that each adjacent pair of stacked arrays is spaced by a respective separator body, and carrying out at least one process, in particular at least one back-end process, using the stack. A separator sheet for spacing arrays and a method of using separator sheets for spacing arrays during processing the arrays are also provided.

A component carrier includes an electrically insulating layer structure having a first main surface and a second main surface with a through hole extending through the electrically insulating layer structure between the first main surface and the second main surface. An electrically conductive bridge structure connects opposing sidewalls of the electrically insulating layer structure delimiting the through hole. A vertical thickness of the electrically insulating layer structure is not more than 200 &#x3bc;m and a narrowest vertical thickness of the bridge structure is at least 20 &#x3bc;m.
