A high density, high speed, low profile, electrical connector () includes a housing () and conductive contacts () partially positioned in the housing. The housing has a base () defining therethrough a number of passageways (). Each contact has a body portion () and a pair of cantilevered beams () extending from the body portion. A retaining tab () is stamped from the body portion and abuts against a projection () formed in the passageway for protect the housing from possible movement with respect to a board on which the connector is mounted. The connector also has a stabilizer () assembled to the housing.

High density, high speed connector

A stacked RJ21 receptacle () for mating with a mating connector includes a first RJ21 receptacle () and a second receptacle (). An outer shield () shields the first and second receptacle. The first and second RJ21 receptacle each has a projecting portion projecting beyond the outer shield. The stacked RJ21 receptacle () further includes at least a printed circuit board () and a noise suppressing element () respectively electrically connecting with the first and second receptacles.

Electrical connector

A pluggable connector () includes a dielectric housing (), a contact group (), a first sub-assembly (), a second sub-assembly (), a third sub-assembly (), a back cover () and a pair of spring tabs (). The dielectric housing defines a plurality of ribs (). Pluggable connector with a high density structure

A method of making an electrical connector includes the steps of: providing a connector body () having an insert () defining a recessed area () at one side and a number of channels () at an opposite side; assembling a ground bus () to the recessed area of the insert, the ground bus including a carrier strip () with a number of fingers () extending therefrom; assembling a number of signal contacts () to the channels of the insert, each signal contact including a board mounting portion (); and displacing the carrier strip such that each finger extends into space () between the mounting portions of two adjacent signal contacts.

Method of making a straddle mount connector

An electrical connector assembly () includes a card edge connector () used to be mounted on a mother board () and defining a slot (), a daughter card (), and a board hold down () for being mounted on the mother board. The daughter card includes a mating edge () inserted into the slot of the card edge connector, and a rear edge () opposite to the mating edge and defining an engaging hole (). The board hold down is separated from the card edge connector and includes a pivot bracket () engaged with the engaging hole of the daughter card, and a pin latch () pivoted on the pivot bracket and having a latch portion () abutting against the rear edge of the daughter card for preventing the rear edge from rising upwardly.

Electrical connector assembly having board hold down

A connector assembly () used to interconnect a primary circuit board () to an intermediate circuit board () includes a one-piece insulated housing () and an outer shell () partially enclosing outside of the housing (). The housing () has a space () formed from a mounting side of the housing () to the primary circuit board () and a face () formed at another mounting side of the housing () to the intermediate circuit board (). A plurality of conductors () is retained in the housing and extends from the space () to the face () and each conductor () has one tail portion () to be press-fit on the intermediate circuit board () and another tail portion to be engaged with a corresponding hole () on the primary circuit board (). The one-piece housing and fewer interfaces are used, and the mounting method and mechanism of the conductors is simplified to reduce the cost of manufacturing.

Connector assembly for printed circuit board interconnection

A ground bus () for use with an electrical connector () includes a plane body () for electrical engagement with a corresponding ground contact of a mating connector, a number of solder tails () extending from the plane body and a carrier strip () connecting with the solder tails. The ground bus has a number of fingers () extending from the carrier strip. The fingers extend into space () between adjacent signal contacts () after the ground bus is assembled to the connector. Each solder tail () has a solder joint () for electrical connection to a printed circuit board (). A bringing element () interconnects two adjacent solder tails at the solder joint.

An electrical device () for interconnecting two parallel printed circuit boards at a large distance includes a plug connector (), a receptacle connector ('), and a mating extender () disposed between the plug connector and the receptacle connector. The mating extender includes a subassembly of wafer (), a pair of identical caps () disposed on the top and bottom portions of the subassembly of wafer, and a pair of shroud-halves () sliding on the subassembly of the wafer. The subassembly of wafer is made up of a number of wafer modules () parallel with each other. Each wafer module has a wafer support () and a number of contacts () embedded in the wafer support.

Electrical device for interconnecting two printed circuit boards at a large distance

A mating extender electrically engages with a pair of complementary connectors. The mating extender comprises an insulative housing having first and second mating sections, and a number of wafers parallelly assembled into the insulative housing. Each wafer comprises an insulative frame and a plurality of contacts each formed by a pair of electrically stacked semi-contacts. Each contact has an intermediate portion retained in the insulative frame, a pair of first contact tails and a pair of second contact tails at opposite ends of the intermediate portion and received in the first and the second mating sections of the insulative housing, respectively.

Mating extender for electrically connecting with two electrical connectors

An electrical connector () adapted for mounting on a printed circuit board () includes an insulative housing () and a number of conductive contacts () attached to the housing. The conductive contacts include a number of signal contacts () and a number of ground contacts (). Each ground contact includes a pair of solder tails (). The solder tails include retention type tails () positioned in selected positions of the insulative housing and non-retention type tails (). Each retention type tail includes a pair of lateral bulge () in back to back manner for interfering with corresponding through hole of the printed circuit board ().

Electrical connector having circuit board retention structure

An electrical connector () includes a housing () and conductive contacts () partially positioned in the housing. The housing has a base wall () and side wall (). The top edge of the side wall has a thickness larger than other portion of the side wall. Each contact has a body portion () and a pair of cantilevered beams () extending from the body portion. A stabilizer () is assembled in the housing. The stabilizer provides a general flat planar surface () on a top and defines a number of cavities () exposed to the surface. The cantilevered beams extend through the cavities of the stabilizer and exposed partially outside the surface thereof.

High density connector with enhanced structure

An electrical connector assembly () includes a mother board () defining a pair of retention holes (), a card edge connector () mounted on the mother board, a daughter card () including a mating edge () inserted into the card edge connector and a rear edge () defining a pair of engaging holes () vertically aligned with the pair of retention holes of the mother board, and a board hold down (). The board hold down includes a pair of supporting portions () supporting the rear edge of the daughter card, a pair of retaining portions (), and an operating portion () between the pair of retaining portions and having a spring tab () locking the rear edge of the daughter card. Each of the retaining portions includes a mounting portion () soldered in a corresponding retention hole and a positioning portion () engaged with a corresponding engaging hole.

An electrical adapter () includes a first housing member (), a second housing member () coupled with the first housing member, and a number of first, second and third conductive terminals (). The first housing member has a first mating face () defining a first upper and lower receptacles (). The second housing member has a second mating face () defining a second receptacle (). The first, second and third conductive terminals () respectively have contacting portions () extending into corresponding receptacles. Latching means are arranged between the first and second housing members so as to fasten the first housing member and the second housing together.

Electrical adapter assembly

An electrical devicefor interconnecting two printed circuit boards(PCBs) at a large distance includes a first connectorand a second connectorfor being respectively mounted on the two PCBs, and an extenderlocated between and electrically connected with the first and second connectors. The extender includes a framefor being fixed to one PCB, and two circuit boardsattached to the frame and connecting with the first and second connectors at opposite ends thereof.

A connector module for receiving a signal converter and electrically connecting the signal converter to a printed circuit board mounted within an electronic system. The connector module includes a conductive cage having a plurality of press-fit type pins and a shielding lid. The connector module further defines a top opening and a cavity with an opening on a bottom portion of the conductive cage for receiving the connector which electrically connecting with the signal converter. The shielding lid covers on the top opening. The connector comprises a plurality of contacts each having a press-fit end, said press-fit ends extending toward the printed circuit board and mounting therein.
