A method for performing statistical static timing analysis on an integrated circuit (IC) is disclosed, which comprises identifying a plurality of turned-on devices in the IC during a predetermined operation of the IC, choosing only the libraries of the plurality of turned-on devices, and calculating a time delay of the IC using only the chosen libraries, wherein the number of libraries used for the time delay calculation is reduced.

Method for reducing timing libraries for intra-die model in statistical static timing analysis

The present invention relates to a method of interconnection routing for preventing crosstalk. The method comprises the following steps. Providing an aggressor connection path as a first net. Providing a victim connection path according to the requirements of a second net. Determining a voltage ramp time of the aggressor connection path, a victim total length of the victim connection path, a coupled wire length between the aggressor connection path and the victim connection path, and an equivalent load corresponding to the victim connection path. Evaluating a noise metric according to the voltage ramp time, the victim total length, the coupled wire length and the equivalent load. Modifying the victim connection path to shorten the coupled wire length if the noise metric is greater than a pre-determined value. Finally designating the victim connection path as the second net if the noise metric is less than the pre-determined value.

Interconnection routing method

A new method to design and verify a multi-power integrated circuit device is achieved. A multi-power gate-level netlist is provided. This multi-power gate-level netlist includes multi-power net information. This multi-power gate-level netlist is translated to thereby create a non-multi-power gate-level netlist. This translating comprises removing the multi-power net information. Circuit cells are then placed and routed to create a physical view of the multi-power integrated circuit device. This placing and routing step uses the non-multi-power gate-level netlist. Text labels for the multi-power net information are attached to the physical view. The physical view and the multi-power gate-level netlist are compared to verify the correctness of the physical view and to complete the design and verification of the multi-power integrated circuit device.

Method to design and verify an integrated circuit device with multiple power domains

A method and system for the design of an electronic device adjusts the resistance and capacitance values employed in preliminary timing analysis during physical synthesis of the electronic device. The physical synthesis uses resistance and capacitance unit values to determine the listing of the component circuits. The resistance and capacitance unit values are calibrated by preliminarily placing the initially synthesized component circuits to create a listing describing physical locations of the component circuits within the electronic device. A preliminary routing of the interconnections is performed to create a listing describing a network of physical wire segments that form each interconnection of the component circuits. A timing analysis of the electronic device determines the delay created by the component circuit and the networks of physical wire segments. The time delay resulting from the physical interconnects is extracted from the timing analysis of the electronic device and from the timing estimate performed during the physical synthesis. The time delay of the physical interconnection from the timing analysis and the timing estimate performed during the physical synthesis is then compared. The resistance and capacitance unit values used during the timing synthesis are then adjusted. The calibration is repeatedly executed until time delay of the physical interconnection from the timing analysis and the timing estimate performed during the physical synthesis are correlated.

Method and apparatus to perform resistance and capacitance (RC) parameter customization for better timing closure results in physical synthesis and optimization

A structure and method for forming multiplication of a b-bit multiplicand X and a b-bit multiplier Y to generate a product P is disclosed. The present invention includes cells C.sub.mn configured in a b.times.b array, and pieces of means for generating partial product X.sub.mn, wherein outputs of the partial product generating means are connected to first inputs of the cells respectively. The second inputs of the cells C.sub.mn, where m=0, 1, 2, . . . , b-2, and n=1, 2, . . . , b-1, are connected to first outputs of the cells C.sub.m+1, n-1 respectively, and the second inputs of the cells C.sub.b-1, n, where n=1, 2, . . . , b-1, are connected to second outputs of the cells C.sub.n-1, b-1 respectively. Further, the third inputs of the cells C.sub.mn, where m=0, 1, 2, . . . , b-1, and n=2, 3, . . . , b-1, are connected to the second outputs of the cells C.sub.m, n-1. Therefore, a portion of the product P.sub.f, where f=0, 1, . . . , b-1, comes from the first outputs of the cells C.sub.0, f, another portion of the product P.sub.g, where g=b, b+1, . . . , 2b-1, comes from the first outputs of the cells C.sub.g-3, b-1, and a most significant bit P.sub.2b-1 of the product comes from the second output of the cell C.sub.b-1,b-1.

Structure and method of array multiplication

A self-setup non-overlap clock generator is disclosed. This clock generator includes a primary clock signal input terminal for providing a primary clock signal, and a selection signal input terminal for providing at least one selection signal. The present invention also includes a first logic gate having a first input terminal coupled to receive an inverted signal of the primary clock signal. Further, a second logic gate is provided, having a first input terminal coupled to receive the primary clock signal. A first programmable delay portion is used to delay an output signal from the first logic gate an amount of time according to the selection signal, and a second programmable delay portion is used to delay an output signal from the second logic gate a predetermined amount of time according to the selection signal. Therefore, a first clock signal is generated from the output of the first logic gate, and a second clock signal is generated from the output of the second logic gate. Particularly, the present invention includes a test circuit to determine whether a non-overlap space between the first clock signal and the second clock signal conforms to a predetermined value. Finally, a selector is used to generate the at least one selection signal in response to at least one output of the test circuit such that a smallest value out of all possible non-overlap spaces is chosen.
