The invention relates to solid medium for producing glucosamine, including a substrate and 0.15-4.8 mL/g substrate of supplemental solution, which includes 0.1-2 g/L KHPO, 0.1-2 g/L NaCl, and 0.1-2 g/L MgSO.7HO. The invention also relates to a method for producing glucosamine, including providing microorganism being able to produce glucosamine, and fermenting the microorganism in the medium mentioned above.

Solid medium for producing glucosamine and its application

The invention relates to a medium for producing glucosamine, including 25-500 g/L molasses, 0.01-100 g/L soybean hydrolysate or 0.25-100 g/L corn steep liquor, 0.1-2 g/L MgSO.7HO, 0.1-0.5 g/L Al(NO), and 1-5 mL/L methanol. The invention also relates to a method for producing glucosamine, including providing microorganism being able to produce glucosamine, and fermenting the microorganism in the medium mentioned above.

Method for producing glucosamine

Disclosed is a method for producing biodegradable polymer and ethanol converted from carbon source by using recombinant microorganisms, comprising the steps of: (A) providing recombinant microorganisms transformed with plasmids containing at least a gene encoding for glycerol utilizing enzyme and a gene encoding for polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase; (B) culturing the recombinant microorganisms in a medium containing glycerol; (C) inducing expression of the genes of step (A), thereby obtaining polyhydroxyalkanoate and ethanol; and (D) recovering the polyhydroxyalkanoate and the ethanol; wherein the recombinant microorganisms have a glycerol utilization rate more than 90% (w/w), and have polyhydroxyalkanoate accumulated therein to a biomass content thereof at least 30% (w/w).

A method for producing glucosamine with microorganism comprises of fermenting with a microorganism selected from the group consisting ofandsp. in a novel low-cost medium, thereby enable it to produce glucosamine; wherein said medium is consisted of commercial Taiwan sugar, soy beam, rice bran and the like; wherein suitable condition for the fermentation is: 150&#x2dc;300 rpm, pH 4&#x2dc;pH 8, and 24&#xb0; C.&#x2dc;37&#xb0; C.; wherein, after fermentation culturing, the fermentation liquor is filtered with suction to recover said microorganism biomass, said microorganism biomass is then subjected to steps of cell disruption, hydrochloric acid reaction, neutralization reaction and filtration, to obtain glucosamine produced by the microorganism.
