In a shift device, a shift position of a knob is altered as a result of the knob being displaced in a vertical direction, and also being rotated in one direction or in another direction. Here, the knob is disposed on an outer side in a radial direction of a supporting column. Because of this, the knob can be inhibited by the supporting column from being unnecessarily displaced downwards.

Shift device with shift body that can be inhibited from displacement

In a shift device, a shift position of a knob is altered as a result of a knob being rotated. Furthermore, a Hall IC on a wiring substrate detects a rotation position of a magnet in the knob, thereby enabling the shift position of the knob to be detected. Here, the Hall IC is placed on an outer side in a rotation radial direction of the magnet. Because of this, it is possible to enlarge the change in the relative position between the magnet and the Hall IC that is generated by the rotation of the magnet, thereby enabling the detection accuracy when detecting the shift position of the knob to be improved.

Shift device that enables detection accuracy to be improved

A strength of an outer side portion in a second direction of a shift body is increased. In a shift device, when a lever is placed in an 'M' position, a right avoidance hole of the lever avoids interference with a right restricting portion, rotational movement of a left restricting surface of the lever is restricted by a left restricting portion, and an operation to rotationally move the lever towards the right side is restricted. Furthermore, when the lever is placed in a 'D' position, a left avoidance hole of the lever avoids interference with the left restricting portion, rotational movement of a right restricting surface of the lever is restricted by the right restricting portion, and an operation to rotationally move the lever towards the left side is restricted. The right avoidance hole and the left avoidance hole can be made smaller, so that the strength of both outer side portions in a lateral directions of the lever can be increased.

Vehicle shift device

In a shift device, the placement of magnets relative to sensors can be changed by rotating a ball shaft of a lever. The sensors detect magnetic fields generated by the magnets in order to detect a shift position of the lever. Shields suppress a magnetic field outside the ball shaft from reaching the sensors. The magnets, the sensors, and the shields are disposed on the ball shaft. This enables a reduction in the size of the shift device.
