A method and device for limiting and/or controlling the surface temperature of a hob having a ceramic cooking surface. The hob is heated by an energy source which includes a temperature limiter with a variable switching temperature. The switching temperature of the temperature limiter is varied during a cooking procedure according to a redetermined switching temperature-time profile.

A cook top with a frame on which there is secured a cook top panel, in particular made of glass ceramic. A plurality of hot plates is provided which can each be heated by a heating element that is secured beneath the cook top panel. For the positioning of the heating element relative to the frame exactly one positioning element is secured on the frame. The positioning element has at least two spaced-apart connecting elements that engage in two corresponding positioning openings of a heating-element casing of the heating element which is to be positioned. In order to achieve high positional accuracy of the heating-element casing with low outlay, the frame has an installation shoulder that extends essentially parallel to the base of the heating-element casing, and the positioning element is secured in a precisely positioned manner on the installation shoulder.

A cook top with a cook top panel, in particular a cook top panel made of glass ceramic, which is secured on a metallic, single-piece installation frame. The frame has side walls that extend essentially perpendicularly to the cook top panel and which has, on a base side, an installation shoulder which extends parallel to the cook top panel, at a spacing from the cook top panel. The installation shoulder surrounds a large-surface-area base opening formed in the installation frame. The installation shoulder is provided with component openings for securing components of the cook top. In order for it to be possible to configure the installation frame in the simplest possible manner in production terms, the installation frame is configured as a bent part. In this case, at least four side walls are configured as individual side-wall sections which are separate from one another and are each bent individually at right angles from the installation shoulder around a periphery.

A glass-ceramic cooktop includes a glass-ceramic plate having a periphery. At least one heating body is disposed below the glass-ceramic plate. A sprayed-on plastic frame embraces the periphery of the glass-ceramic plate and has an upper surface. A protective lining of high-temperature-proof material embraces the glass-ceramic plate and is disposed on the upper surface of the plastic frame.

A baking oven includes at least one boundary wall defining a baking space and at least one lighting device each including a first part in the form of a low-voltage bulb, a second part in the form of an electrical connection for the bulb, and a lamp socket disposed on the at least one boundary wall. The lamp socket receives the bulb from inside the baking space with the bulb protruding substantially completely into the baking space. The boundary wall has an opening formed therein for receiving and closely surrounding one of the parts of the lighting device.

Electrical heating apparatus, including a frame formed of insulating material having an opening formed therethrough, a heating element formed of positive temperature coefficient material having two opposing outer surfaces and being disposed in the opening formed in the frame, an electrically-conducting current supply contact layer disposed on each of the two opposing outer surfaces of the heating element, an electrically conducting current input electrode plate formed of yieldable material being anchored in the frame and being disposed on each of the contact layers forming an integral structural unit enclosing the heating element, and a heat conducting plate formed of insulating material disposed on each of the electrode plates receiving heat transfered through the contact layers and clamping the heating element under pressure.

Heating device with a heating element of a material with positive temperature coefficient, of which two opposite sides are contacted by planar electrodes and give off the heat produced through the electrodes and planar sheets of insulating material covering the same to two heat-absorbing surfaces of a heater. The sheets of insulating material are coated on their side facing the heating element over a large area with a solder and are soldered to the electrodes. This insures permanent good heat transfer between the electrodes and the insulating material covering them. The firmly joining together of the heating element and the sheets of insulating material to form a structural unit facilitates the assembly, i.e., the installation of the heating device.
