A balanced powder blend composition with at least one fat or oil source, at least one carbohydrate source, and at least one protein source, is described. This composition is advantageously added to a food to supplement the nutritional value of the food, but without substantially altering the taste of the food. The energetic amount of protein is between about 20% and 30%, the energetic amount of oil is between about 40% and 50%, and the energetic amount of carbohydrate is between about 25% and 35%. The carbohydrate source can be maltodextrin, the fat or oil source can be canola oil and/or milk fat, and the protein source can be whey protein, casein, a casein salt, or a mixture thereof. The mixture is prepared by admixing the ingredients with water, heating and homogenizing the mixture, and spray drying the mixture into a powder. An emulsifier can be added to the composition.

A method for enhancing chemical reactions in a constantly flowing stream of liquid character fortified with oxidizing agents, such as air or oxygen or other chemical agents, makes use of an inner resonant tube concentrically mounted within an outer resonant tube with the walls of the tubes spaced from each other forming an annular passageway for the flow of liquid from one end of the passageway to the other. One or more sets of radially spaced ultrasonic transducers are located on the outside wall of the outer resonant tube thereby to create an ultrasonic cavitation condition in the liquid as it flows through the annular passageway.

Apparatus for enhancing chemical reactions

A continuous self-cleaning filter for liquids has an outer resonant tube concentrically mounted around an inner composite tube in spaced relationship providing an annular chamber between them. There is an inflow at one end of the annular chamber for the liquid and an outflow at the other end for residual concentrate. The inner composite tube has an outlet at one end for clear effluent and a closed opposite end. A relatively thin walled perforate liner enveloped in a filter blanket comprises the composite tube. For constantly cleaning the filter blanket a sonic sinusoidal wave inducing transducer is affixed to the exterior wall of the outer resonant tube at an antinodal point, thereby to excite the outer tube into a state of resonance, thereby to continuously transform the liquid to be filtered within the annular chamber into a state of intense vaporous cavitation energy thereby to implode the surfaces of the filter blanket material causing the contamination and build up residue to be continuously removed and returned to concentrate flow within the annular chamber.

Dynamic self-cleaning filter for liquids

In a substantially conventional system for receiving and conveying a fluid suspension of material there is an endless porous belt screen on which the material is spread and a tray beneath the belt to catch liquid which passes through the belt. A suction box beneath the belt near the area of deposition draws off some liquid. Superimposed on the conventional system is a resonant frequency energy source in the form of a roll assembly consisting in part of an outer shell in the form of an exterior cylindrical roll supported on shock mounts and in constant engagement with the underside of the belt. The exterior cylindrical roll is driven at a circumferential speed equal to the linear speed of travel of the belt. Within the exterior cylindrical roll is a frequency generator mass in the form of a generator roll sub-assembly embodying an eccentric coupling driven by an oppositely rotating shaft which oscillates the generator roll sub-assembly to generate a sinusoidal force motion in the sonic range, whereby to set up in the exterior cylindrical roll the belt sections adjacent thereto and the material on the belt a resonant condition which in turn generates accoustical vaporous cavitation to break surface tension of the liquid and the material thereby to augment the quantity of liquid passing through the belt.

Apparatus and method for deliquifying material

For the continuous mixing of fluid process materials or gases as they flow uninterrupted from a point of initial mixing to a discharge end and processed by means of intense vaporous cavitation, use is made of a resonant tube section having an entrance end and an exit end. The tube section is isolated from the rest of the supporting structure by means of resilient isolation mounts. A source of sinusoidal energy is connected to and excites the resonant tube section into one of its modes of natural frequency causing intense resonant sinusoidal acoustic energy to be developed and transmitted in spherical fashion from the inner resonant tube wall and throughout the flowing fluids. The energy thus released generates intense acoustical vaporous cavitation energy which breaks the surface tension and mixes the materials.
