A method and apparatus for producing homogeneous bread crumbs including a conveyor for conveying bread loaves that securely holds the bread loaves while they are sliced by a rotary involute knife slicer into slices of substantially uniform thickness, a dicer that dices the slices into homogeneous bread crumbs and a chute with a deflector and a compressed air source which conveys the bread slices from the rotary involute slicer to the dicer and aligns and spaces the slices for input to the dicer.

Apparatus and method for making bread crumbs

Moisture sensitive materials are agglomerated by a process that does not disrupt the structure of these materials. A first fraction of the moisture sensitive materials are coated with a hydrophylic binding agent foam and then contacted with the remaining materials. The agglomerated mixture is then dried to a final product moisture.

Method for agglomerating moisture sensitive materials

A process for making sweetened coconut flakes in which shredded coconut is coated with an aqueous solution comprising finely ground coconut and humectants. The liquid coated coconut is then coated with sugar producing a product which is moist and fresh.
