Motor vehicle brake master cylinder seal

The invention relates to a master cylinder () with reduced free travel (). Current master cylinders have a free travel during the displacement of a piston () in a bore () of a master cylinder body (). Such a free travel may be reduced with the aid of a frustoconical portion () in the piston, an orifice () for communication of hydraulic fluid being situated on said inclined wall, a gap () between the inclined wall and an inner wall () of the bore allowing a passage for hydraulic fluid capable of filling a pressure chamber (). However, such inclined walls create a change in the slope of an outer wall () of the piston, this change being able to cause a separation of an inner lip () of a sealing cup (). To prevent this separation, the invention provides that the inclined wall forms a convex rounded surface ().

Master cylinder with reduced free travel

An arrangement () for the connection of a brake fluid supply reservoir () to a longitudinal brake master cylinder () of a motor vehicle, in which at least one lower supply pipe () connected to the reservoir is received in a complementary supply bore () of the master cylinder () and in which vertical immobilization structure () is interposed between the pipe () and the master cylinder (). The arrangement is by an intermediate baseplate () that is connected to the reservoir () by at least one nozzle () including the supply pipe () and that is lowered vertically onto the master cylinder () and then immobilized on the master cylinder () by way of vertical immobilization structure () that directly snap-fastens to the master cylinder () to allow rapid attachment of the pipe () to the master cylinder ().

Arrangement for the connection of a brake fluid supply reservoir

In order to prevent hydraulic fluid infiltrating out from a hydraulic fluid tank () when a vehicle is in operation, the invention provides for the tank to be compartmentalized by an anti-overflow partition (). The anti-overflow partition is made in such a manner as to hold air captive inside the tank in the vicinity of a feed orifice () at a location placed in a top portion of said anti-overflow partition.

Hydraulic fluid reservoir

A tank according to the invention comprises a casing, a filling port () extending, on the outside of said tank, into a filling neck (), which is provided with a screw thread having a pitch (p) and which cooperates with a cap (). The inner surface of the cap cooperating with the screw thread, at least one outlet port for the hydraulic-fluid flow towards a hydraulic circuit. The inner space () of the tank is connected with ambient air through two channels (), that extend from a first lengthwise end () of the filling neck () to a second lengthwise end () of the filling neck () and through a helical passage () between the filling neck () and the cap () to connect the inside of the tank with the ambient air to avoid the development of negative pressure in the tank.

Reservoir for a hydraulic circuit

A tank intended for an electrohydraulic braking system comprises, according to the present invention, a first chamber () for the supply of a primary hydraulic circuit of a master cylinder with brake fluid, a second chamber () for the supply of a secondary hydraulic circuit of the master cylinder (not shown) with brake fluid, a third chamber () for the supply of a hydraulic pump with brake fluid, and a fourth chamber (), a measuring one, which accommodates a detection device, indicating when the brake-fluid level inside the tank is too low. The tank has a flow path for the interconnection of the first chamber (), the second chamber () and the third chamber () when the hydraulic-fluid level is higher than a safety level, and for the fluid-tight separation of said chambers when the hydraulic-fluid level is lower than the safety level.
