A curvature exaggeration face is obtained from at least one region of a first 3D face, and a proportion exaggeration deformation is obtained for said least one region of said first 3D face. The curvature exaggeration face and the proportion exaggeration deformation for obtaining said at least one deformed region of said 3D face are combined.

Methods and devices for encoding and decoding a data stream representative of a 3D volumetric scene comprising haptic features associated with objects of the 3D scene are disclosed. At the encoding, haptic features are associated with objects of the scene, for instance as haptic maps. Haptic components are stored in points of the 3D scene as color may be. These components are projected onto patch pictures which are packed in atlas images. At the decoding, haptic components are un-projected onto reconstructed points as color may be according to the depth component of pixels of the decoded atlases.

The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatus or systems for determining an aiming direction () of a remote motorized camera (). The immersive video content captured by the camera () is associated with reference directions (). Parameters of a discrepancy function () are calculated. This function is used to control the aiming direction () of the camera. It introduces a discrepancy between the rotation wanted by the user () and the rotation of the camera (). An example purpose of the present disclosure is to encourage a user to rotate the camera toward reference directions, preventing him/her to rotate the camera toward the opposite direction. The present principles have the advantage to create pseudo-haptic effects, inciting the user to look toward a reference direction without making him/her sick.

A method for rendering a current image on a head-mounted display is provided. The current image has been acquired by a camera mounted on a moving object. First, the capturing roll angle is obtained. It is compared to the viewing roll angle that is the current roll angle of the head of a user of the head-mounted display. If the difference between the capturing roll angle and the current viewing roll angle is lower than a determined threshold, a detection flag is activated. The current image is then rotated by an angle determined according to the capturing roll angle, the current viewing roll angle and of the detection flag. The current rotated image is rendered.

An apparatus and method is provided in which pressure sensors are disposed in a configuration such as a matrix format on the surface of the user input device. The processor generates a proxy on the image having a plurality of points disposed in a corresponding configuration. The proxy points are associated with each pressure sensor locations. The processor then generates an output effect responsive to input signal received from one or more pressure sensors of the input device.

An encoder and encoding method map haptic effects for various haptic channels to a plurality of areas of a body model. The haptic channels represent temperature, vibration, or similar such effects for use by haptic actuators, for example. Each channel comprises signals to represent a timestamp, face locations and identifiers, and spatial and temporal resolution values to control effect resolutions for various parts of the body for a particular effect controlled by that channel. The haptic channels are multiplexed together to form a composite signal that can control various effects to a plurality of body locations.

The present disclosure relates to a method for reproducing an item of video content filmed using a camera. An item of video content composed of sequences is developed and enhanced by commands applied to the camera at the time of filming. With a view to reproduction, the video content is divided into sequences. The commands applied to the camera are extracted for each sequence and make it possible to calculate at least one haptic actuator control parameter associated with this sequence. At the time of the reproduction of a sequence of the video content, at least one control parameter thus calculated controls at least one haptic actuator. In this way, the spectator perceives stimuli making it possible to enhance his perception of the video document during the reproduction. Advantageously, the player able to reproduce the enhanced content determines a cinematographic effect for a set of sequences from commands applied to the camera. Then the haptic metaphor associated with this effect is applied to this set of sequences.

Method for reproducing an item of audiovisual content having haptic actuator control parameters and device implementing the method

The invention relates to a method for generating haptic coefficients associated with an audiovisual document. Initially, data is extracted from an audio and/or video track and is used to calculate at least one first group of haptic coefficients from an autoregressive model applied to the read data. These haptic coefficients are designed to program a filter supplying at the output the control parameters for controlling at least one haptic actuator. Then, a 'haptic' sequence of the audiovisual document is determined and calculated haptic parameters are associated with the determined sequence. In this manner, the haptic parameters enabling the control of one or more actuators are easily calculated and easily reproducible. Advantageously, the data used for the calculation is extracted from the selected sequence.

A time distance between the timestamp of the recorded audio signal and the timestamp of the recorded inertial signal is determine and inertial signals for content reproduced on the mobile content device are shifted by an amount of time equal to the determined time distance between the timestamp of the recorded audio signal and the timestamp of the recorded inertial signal.

Washout related information is added to a signal representing a HAV content so that a HAV rendering device may adapt the washout to its physical limitations defined by the device capabilities as well as the user preferences.
