A three-dimensional (3D) printing system includes a vessel, a coating subsystem, a calibration block, and a controller. The vessel is configured to contain a photocurable resin having a resin upper surface. The coating subsystem includes a coater module including a coater blade, a lateral movement mechanism coupled to the coater module, a sensor mounted to the coater module, and a vertical actuator system. The calibration block has a calibration surface. The controller is configured to operate the lateral movement mechanism to position the coater blade over the calibration block, operate the vertical actuator system to lower the coater blade into engagement with the calibration surface of the calibration block, operate the sensor to measure a distance to the calibration block, and store the distance as indicative of a vertical position of a lower edge of the coater blade.

Stereolithography system for accurately establishing build plane

A three-dimensional (3D) printing system includes a resin vessel containing photocurable resin, an imaging system, a build plate with a plate upper surface, a vertical positioner, a volume compensator (VC), and a controller. The controller is configured to: (a) operate the VC to maintain a resin upper surface proximate to a build plane, (b) operate the imaging system and the vertical positioner to generate a plurality of base layers upon the plate upper surface, (c) receive a first signal responsive to vertical motion of the resin upper surface, (d) analyze the first signal to determine a metric that is related to an extent of immersion of the plate upper surface below the resin upper surface during formation of the base layers, and (e) operate the imaging system and the vertical positioner to begin generation of the 3D article after the metric has reached a predefined threshold.

Three-dimensional printing system throughput improvement by sensing volume compensator motion

A three-dimensional printing system for manufacturing a three-dimensional article includes a transparent substrate, a fluid handling system, a support tray, and a light engine. The transparent substrate slopes downwardly from an upper end toward a lower end. The fluid handling system is configured to input photocurable resin at the upper end and to receive the photocurable resin at the lower end. The fluid handling system thereby forms a gravity-driven flowing sheet of resin over an upper surface of the transparent sheet. The support tray is mounted to a movement mechanism. The support tray has a lower face for supporting the three-dimensional article. The lower face is generally parallel to the upper surface of the transparent substrate. The light engine is positioned below the transparent substrate for selectively illuminating the resin along a build plane that is within the resin and parallel to the upper surface of the transparent substrate.

A three-dimensional printing system is for manufacturing and post-processing a three-dimensional article. The system includes a housing, a blower, and a residue trap. The housing is for surrounding the three-dimensional article during the post process and includes an air inlet and an air outlet. The blower includes an inlet and an outlet. The outlet supplies pressurized air to the air emitting nozzle. The residue trap is coupled between the housing air outlet and the inlet of the blower. The air circulates around a loop from the blower outlet, to the air inlet of the housing, out of the air outlet of the housing, and to the inlet of the blower.

A fan system is disclosed that includes a braking mechanism for physically stopping rotation of a fan rotor. The braking mechanism is activated when the fan system is at least partially removed from a chassis or enclosure or when the chassis or enclosure including the fan system is opened. The fan rotor, of the fan system, may include a rotating blade assembly configured to rotate around an axis. A fan motor, of the fan system, is configured to cause rotation of the rotating blade assembly around the axis. The braking mechanism, of the fan system, is configured to apply friction to at least one component of the fan rotor when the braking mechanism is engaged. Application of friction to the at least one component of the fan rotor may stop rotation of the rotating blade assembly around the axis.

Integrated fan braking mechanism

A functional EMI containment plug or assembly useful to block an opening or hole in an electronics cabinet or enclosure so as to provide EMI containment. Functionality is achieved by combining a membrane with a circuit board. The EMC assembly functions as a circuit board-based membrane keyboard, which includes tactile switches a user can press to actuate a circuit board function. The switches may be a dome switch that has collapsing action (e.g., amount of travel), and the thickness of the membrane layers placed on top of the front of the circuit board are matched to the chosen dome switch to allow a proper amount of travel. The layers of the membrane act as an EMI shield. In one embodiment, the membrane includes a metal foil layer and a conductive material layer, and the combination of foil and conductive layers of the membrane act to provide a shield for EMI.

Functional electromagnetic interference containment assembly for plugging enclosure openings

A rack-mountable system is provided that includes fastening mechanisms mounted to the chassis sidewalls. The fastening mechanisms or 'ears' of a rack-mountable chassis are each provided as a unitary part or piece rather than as multiple sheet metal or cast/extruded metallic parts that have to be assembled. The ear is attached or mounted to the chassis in a tool-less manner through specific design of the ear and its chassis-locking features and of holes and/or receiving/mating surfaces and/or openings on the chassis sidewalls. The left and right (or first and second) ears are manufactured in a number of ways including 3D printing, casting, and molding in a shock and impact-resistant material, such as a plastic (e.g., a thermoplastic). The chassis with the low-cost, tool-less ears are useful for mounting routers, switches, servers, digital data storage units, and instrumentation in a rack (e.g., a conventional enclosure for computer and telecommunications equipment).

Chassis with low-cost, tool-less fastening mechanisms for rack mount systems

A computer enclosure with a mounting assembly for accurately positioning, attaching, and supporting a circuit board within an enclosure or module without tools or fasteners. The mounting assembly includes a number of components and features that act as low-cost, tool-less mechanisms for mounting and fastening a circuit board within an enclosure with accurate locating of the board for later mating with other boards and/or electrical connectors. The mounting assembly allows for a circuit board to be installed and securely mounted to an enclosure without hardware, fasteners, and tools. This is accomplished through components that were designed and engineered to provide accurate positioning of the board within the enclosure when the board is snapped into place with a single hand of the installer and without the use of tools for fastening the board in a predefined location within the enclosure.

Mounting assembly for tool-less mounting of a circuit board in an enclosure

A mounting assembly for accurately positioning, attaching, and supporting a circuit board such as a midplane board within a chassis. The assembly's design facilitates an improved assembly method that includes fastening the board to the chassis so to provide reliable connector mate and rapid assembly. The mounting assembly includes a clamp member) and a spring assembly that act in combination to secure a circuit board onto datum features provided on a chassis and/or its modified and/or lightweight alignment bulkhead, which is part of the new assembly. The new assembly design enables a tight tolerance loop between mating components while also providing a more consistent connector engagement when compared with many prior device designs. In some embodiments, a single fastener (e.g., a nut) is used to attach the clamped and captured circuit board to the chassis. The board is 'captured' as it is sandwiched between the modified bulkhead and the clamp.

Method and apparatus for mounting a circuit board in an enclosure

A computing apparatus adapted for rear access installation of a computer card with blind mating. The apparatus includes an enclosure with a rear access opening and a circuit board mounted in an interior space of the enclosure with an upward facing connector. The apparatus includes a guide assembly comprising a guide mounted within the interior space, and the guide includes a travel surface extending over the upward facing connector of the circuit board. The apparatus includes a card carrier with a frame that houses a computer card, e.g., a PCIe card, which includes a connector extending outward from the card carrier frame. The card carrier rides upon the travel surface when the card carrier is inserted into the enclosure and then pivots about a contact surface in the guide assembly when the computer card connector is proximate to the upward facing connector to provide vertical insertion of the computer card.

A roller assembly for use in a printer includes a shaft with two ends and a pair of conical rollers. Each of the conical rollers is disposed on the shaft near each of the ends. The roller assembly guides a medium within the printer without damaging a freshly-printed surface of the medium. A printer including the roller assembly and a belt in contact with the roller assembly is also described and claimed.
