Disclosed is a solder alloy in use for bonding electric or electronic parts, containing: 3 to 12% by weight of a zin component; and a tin component. The oxygen content of the solder alloy is reduced to 100 ppm or less. Using the solder alloy, a bonding portion is formed on the substrate and the electronic part is mounted thereon to obtain a substrate for mounting the electronic part and a substrate on which the electronic part is mounted. The bonding portion made of the above solder alloy can prevent migration.

A shadow mask with a low thermal expandability of an Fe--Ni-based alloy and a high surface hardness is disclosed. This shadow mask includes a mask main body consisting of an Fe--Ni-based alloy containing iron and nickel as main constituents, a large number of fine electron beam apertures formed in the mask main body, and a surface layer formed on the surface of the mask main body and containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of iron nitride, iron nickel nitride, iron boride, iron nickel boride, iron silicide, and iron nickel silicide.

Disclosed is a shadow mask plate material which consists of an Fe-Ni-based alloy containing iron and nickel as main constituents, has an unrecrystallized texture with a grain size of 10 .mu.m or less, and is excellent in etching characteristics for forming electron beam apertures.

An ingot of an Invar alloy is rolled in one direction into a plate, a number of slot holes are formed in this plate, and the plate is pressed into a curved form, thus providing a shadow mask of a color CRT. The slot holes of this shadow mask have longitudinal axes extending substantially at right angles to the rolling direction of the plate. The holes maintain their shapes after the plate has been pressed.

In the color image display tubes according to this invention, no color deviation is perceived all over the screen and thus a high-quality image is obtained.

A cast ingot of an invar alloy is forged, hot-and cold-rolled, annealed and subjected to a controlled rolling to provide a shadow mask plate. There are disclosed a corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant magnetic amorphous alloy characterized by having, on the surface thereof, an oxide layer including a crystalline oxide and a method for preparing the same characterized by carrying out the oxidation treatment of the magnetic amorphous alloy at a high temperature and at a high pressure in order to form an oxide layer including a crystalline oxide on the surface of the magnetic amorphous alloy. The magnetic amorphous alloy according to this invention possesses a remarkable corrosion resistance and wear resistance and had an improved magnetic permeability in the mega-Hertz zone.
