In general, various aspects of the techniques enable predictive modeling for forged components. A computing device comprising a memory and a processor may be configured to perform the techniques. The memory may store a trained machine learning model that associates training features extracted from data representative of a plurality of training forged components to a plurality of training model results. The memory may also store data representative of a target forged component. The processor may perform a geometrical analysis with respect to the data representative of the target forged component to extract target features, and apply the trained machine learning model to the target features to obtain predicted model results for the target forged component. The processor may also output the predicted model results.

Predictive modeling for forged components

A system may include a reactor vessel comprising an outer wall, a heat source thermally coupled to the reactor vessel, at least one reactor inlet in the outer wall, and at least one reactor outlet. The reactor vessel may be configured to house a porous preform in a radially central core region. The at least one reactor inlet may be configured to introduce a precursor gas to the reactor vessel to produce swirling flow of the precursor gas around the radially central core region of the reactor vessel. The at least one reactor outlet may be configured to remove exhaust gas from the reactor vessel and assist in maintaining a dynamic pressure of the reactor vessel greater than a pressure in the porous preform.

Swirled flow chemical vapor deposition

A method includes heating, using a heat source, a reactor vessel including a substrate in a radially central core region of the reactor vessel and introducing, using at least one reactor inlet in an outer wall of the reactor vessel, a precursor gas to the reactor vessel. The at least one reactor inlet is configured to swirling flow of the precursor gas around the radially central core region of the reactor vessel. The material deposits on the substrate from the precursor gas. The method includes removing, using at least one reactor outlet, an exhaust gas from the reactor vessel.
