Provided are dry-milling methods for producing an aqueous fermentation feedstock ingredient. The methods include providing a corn-processing filtration feed; filtering at least a fraction of said filtration feed on a microfiltration membrane, whereby an aqueous filtration permeate and a filtration retentate are formed; separating said filtration permeate from said filtration retentate, to form separated permeate and separated retentate; forming a fermentation feedstock comprising said separated permeate, and saccharifying and/or washing said separated retentate.

Aqueous fermentation feedstock and a method for the production thereof

Provided is food component comprising cells of at least one bacterium, said cells comprising a crude protein concentration of at least 60 wt % of a total dry weight of said cells and nucleic acid at a concentration of less than about 5 wt % of a total dry weight of said cells, wherein at least 50% of a total number of said cells are dead cells. Aqueous fermentation feedstock and method of producing same. The feedstock includes glucose and dextrose oligomers, wherein (i) glucose concentration is in a range between 10 gram/Liter (g/L) and 150 g/L; (ii) dextrose oligomers concentration is in a range between 50 g/L and 300 g/L; and optionally (iii) slurried particles of less than 0.5 micron; (iv) slurried particles of more than 0.5 micron, wherein a content of such suspended particles of more than 0.5 micron is less than 30 g/L; (v) ash at a concentration in a range between 20 g/L and 50 g/L; (vi) lactate at a concentration in a range between 0.5 g/L and 10 g/L; (vii) protein at a concentration in a range between 5 g/L and 50 g/L; (viii) corn oil at a concentration of less than 10 g/L; and/or (ix) glycerol at a concentration in a range between 1 g/L and 30 g/L.

A method for the production of a rhamnolipid. The method includes culturing in a fermentation medium an organism capable of producing a rhamnolipid to form a fermentation broth comprising at least one rhamnolipid and having a pH&#x3e;5; extracting at least one lipophilic impurity from said fermentation broth; acidulating said fermentation broth to form an aqueous medium of pH&#x3c;5 comprising the at least one rhamnolipid; extracting the at least one rhamnolipid from said acidulated fermentation broth; and separating the at least one rhamnolipid to obtain a purified rhamnolipid.

Methods for producing a bioproduct selected from acetone, isopropanol and a combination thereof with a microorganism in a fermentor are disclosed. The methods include separating cells of the microorganism from a fermentation broth to form separated cells and recycling at least a fraction of the separated cells to the fermentor to achieve one or more of the following: (1) cell concentration in said fermentor greater than 2 g/L; mass yield on a first feedstock greater than 32%; productivity greater than 0.12 g/L/h; and bioproduct titer greater than 10 g/L.

Methods for production of a bioproduct with a microorganism and selective extraction of bioproducts from a fermentation broth. The methods may include mixing a carbon source, a nitrogen source, and an extractant-depleted raffinate to form a fermentation medium, and fermenting the medium with a microorganism to form a fermentation broth having at least one bioproduct. The bioproduct may be extracted from the fermentation broth with an extractant comprising an olefin to form an extract and a raffinate, and the extract may be further separated from the raffinate. The bioproduct may then be separated from the extract, and the extractant may be separated from the raffinate to regenerate the extract-depleted raffinate.

Method of producing bioproducts

Mixotrophic fermentation method performed to make one or more bioproducts such as alcohols, organic acids of less than 7 carbons, acetone, 2,3-butanediol and mixtures thereof with a microorganism. The mixotrophic fermentation method includes providing an isolated organism and providing a first feedstock and a second feedstock for use in a fermentation medium. The first feedstock includes a carbon source that is metabolized by the native form of the organism at a rate of less than 0.01 g/hr/g cell mass, and the second feedstock includes CO, CO, carbonate, bicarbonate, H, glycerol, methanol, formate, urea or mixtures thereof. Mixotrophic fermentation method for making acetone, isopropanol, butyric acid and other bioproducts, and mixtures thereof

Provided are methods, systems and apparatuses to the energy efficient and selective extraction of biomolecules, e.g., small organic compounds, e.g., one or more C3-C9 alcohols, one or more C3-C5 carboxylic acids, and mixtures thereof, from an aqueous solution, particularly aqueous solutions containing the alcohol in dilute or low concentrations, for example, fermentation broths.
