A measurement system for performing measurements of the total radiated power of a device under test has an anechoic chamber, a positioner with a device section for supporting the device under test, at least one link antenna for establishing communication with the device under test and a plurality of different measurement antennas. The measurement antennas are arranged in the anechoic chamber and are designed to carry out a total radiated power measurement. Further, a measurement setup as well as a method for performing measurements of the total radiated power of a DUT are shown.

A measurement system for measuring signals in a RF device comprises at least two signal generators for generating a test signal in each one of the signal generators, a probe for every signal generator, each probe being connected to the respective signal generator for emitting the respective test signal to the RF device, a controllable positioner for rotatably positioning the RF device with respect to the probes, wherein the positioner comprises a mechanical arm with three degrees of freedom, and rods for every probe, wherein each rod is adapted to individually rotate a respective probe around a central fixture, so that the probes are rotatable around a first axis.

A test system for testing a device under test comprising an antenna array with multiple antennas and capable of controlling a radiation pattern of the antenna array, may comprise a test antenna system for emitting outgoing test signals to the device under test and receiving incoming test signals from the device under test, a control unit for controlling the device under test to set a first radiation pattern with a theoretical main lobe pointing to the test antenna system or to set a second radiation pattern with a main lobe comprising an angle larger than 0&#xb0; with the main lobe of the first radiation pattern, and a test processing unit for evaluating the device under test based on signal levels of incoming test signals received by the test antenna system from the device under test and/or based on signal levels of outgoing test signals as received by the device under test.

A test arrangement for testing a device under test comprises a rotatable device support for carrying the device under test at least rotatable in one axis, a first test antenna and a second test antenna, a first antenna positioning means for moving the first test antenna relative to the device under test in elevation direction, and a second antenna positioning means for moving the second test antenna relative to the device under test in azimuth direction and elevation direction.

Test arrangement and test method

A method for improved determination of the position of a user device in a mobile-radio network is provided. In combination with adjacent, second user devices, the method is intended to achieve a relatively-accurate positioning even if only a relatively-inaccurate positioning method is available for the user device itself, especially if the latter is disposed inside a building. An absolute position of a second user device is determined with a first position-determining method. A relative position of the first user device relative to the second user device is then determined with a second position-determining method. Finally, the absolute position of the first user device is determined on the basis of the absolute position of the second user device and the relative position of the first user device relative to the second user device, wherein the first and the second position-determining methods are different methods.

A base station of a mobile communication network is connected to a core network and is operable in a normal mode and in a direct mode. The base station detects a request originating from a first user equipment to communicate with a second user equipment. The first user equipment is in direct reach of the base station. The base station establishes a communication link between the first and the second user equipment, and checks if the second user equipment is also within direct reach of the base station. The base station operates the communication link in direct mode, if yes, and operates the communication link in normal mode, otherwise.
