Honoring a Legacy: Sarbajit Rakshit’s Journey from Distraction to Dedication
May 29, 2024 marked 14 years since Sarbajit Rakshit lost his father. Throughout his life, Sarbajit struggled with distraction and a dislike for exams, focusing more on learning outside the curriculum. Despite his father’s efforts to keep him on track, he preferred exploring various subjects over scoring high marks. During his engineering studies at BEC Shibpur, his passion for diverse topics led to lower scores in his departmental subjects, though he eventually improved his grades in his final years. Realizing higher studies weren’t for him, Sarbajit focused on learning without chasing certificates, much to his father’s disappointment. To honor his father’s wishes, he turned to patents, filing his first one just months after his father’s passing. Today, with 1252 unique patents, Sarbajit is among the top 20 patentees in the world, dedicating all his achievements to his father.
