Welcome to March 4, 2025. This week, we aim to celebrate the centurion patentors who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields.

Patent №: 12245249 – Multi-cell downlink control information. A wireless device receives DCI with a cell index and CSI request, determines the transmission cell based on these, and sends CSI accordingly.

Patent №: 12245227 – Hybrid automatic repeat request process for configured grant. A wireless device receives a configured grant (CG) with a period and slot count for transmission occasions. It transmits uplink data using a HARQ ID based on the slot count and an offset determined by the transmission order within the period.

Patent №: 12245199 – Resource selection window for sidelink inter-UE coordination. A first wireless device receives a MAC CE from a second device requesting inter-UE coordination, specifying a selection window for sidelink resource selection. The first device selects and transmits a MAC CE indicating a preferred or non-preferred resource set, then receives the sidelink transmissions.

Patent №: 12245193 – Paging message reception. A wireless device receives configuration parameters for monitoring a first DCI, which includes a PEI for paging and a TRS availability indication. If the first DCI is not monitored, the device assumes TRS is unavailable and monitors paging occasions for the second DCI.

Patent №: 12245167 – Type 2 power headroom of a primary cell. A base station sends configuration parameters for multiple cells, including a primary and secondary cell, to a wireless device. Upon activation of an uplink in a licensed assisted access secondary cell, the device reports a Type 2 power headroom for the primary cell.

Patent №: 12245057 – Beam management and beam failure recovery in radio systems. Upon detecting a beam failure, a wireless device selects a candidate beam set based on priority, then chooses a reference signal (RS) with sufficient channel quality. It transmits a preamble linked to the selected RS for beam failure recovery.

Patent №: 12244456 – Candidate resource indication for failure recovery in wireless communications. Wireless failure recovery selects candidate resources for secondary cells. If parameters are missing, the device uses defaults or signals no suitable option, switching recovery procedures if needed.

Patent №:  12245246 – Selecting unified transmission states for multipoint operation using paired lists. Techniques for multi-transmission and reception point operation in wireless communication involve indicating multiple transmission control states, activating a subset, and using selected states in a single downlink control mode.

Patent №:  12245223 – Sidelink physical layer priority based procedures. In a shared time window, if a sidelink HARQ has higher priority than a sidelink transmission, the uplink transmission is prioritized. Otherwise, if no other uplink data is present, the sidelink transmission gets priority, with more resources allocated accordingly.

Patent №:  12245219 – Systems and methods for multi-PxSCH signaling at high frequencies. Techniques for wireless communication enable signaling resource allocation for multiple transport blocks on PUSCH or PDSCH using a single control element, optimizing scheduling across contiguous or non-contiguous resources while minimizing signaling overhead.

Patent №: 12245209 – Downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) scheduling for transmission above 52.6 GHz. This disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for downlink and uplink scheduling above 52.6 GHz. A base station disables FDRA, modifies RBG size or RIV determination, and generates a DCI accordingly, which is then transmitted to the UE.

Patent №:  12245191 – Downlink control monitoring operations in wireless communication. This disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for downlink control information in cell detection and measurement. A UE monitors paging occasions in a DRX cycle and may skip certain occasions, each containing downlink control information for paging messages.

Patent №:  12245177 – Methods and systems for downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission. This disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for downlink and interlace uplink transmission. A base station groups candidate SSB positions, communicates group information to a UE, performs an LBT procedure, and upon success, selects a group and transmits SSBs accordingly.

Patent №:  12244547 – Half duplex frequency division duplex for new radio. A UE configured for half-duplex FDD determines HD FDD is enabled, uses a guard period for downlink-uplink switching, transmits uplink data, receives downlink data, and avoids transmission or reception during the guard period.
