John Charles Elliott

Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM.

Patent №:

12373341 – Garbage collection for storage in which high-performance volumes reside. A volume is marked as high-performance, and its storage array is identified. Devices in that array are instructed to perform garbage collection at a higher rate, clearing more blocks to boost efficiency.

Hongxia Jin

Vice President, Head of Artificial Intelligence Center
at Samsung Research America.

Patent №:  12373698 – Small and fast transformer model for multi-modal or other tasks.

It factorizes a weight matrix into smaller parts, prunes and fine-tunes them, and then sends only the compressed components—dictionary, index, and coefficient matrices—to another device, reducing parameter size compared to the original model.

Kyung Ho Kim

Vice President with DMC R&D Center, Samsung Electronics.

Dr. Kim received the B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 1984 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon, Korea, in 1987 and 1991, respectively.

Patent №: 12374295 – Stage circuit and display device including the same.

A stage circuit has an output unit and two drivers. The first connects to power, clock, and input. The second controls node voltage using a transistor, a control transistor, and a capacitor linked to the clock.

Chubing Peng

Technologist at Seagate Technology.

Patent №:  12374357 – Heat-assisted magnetic recording head with a solid immersion mirror.

A heat-assisted magnetic recording head includes a near-field transducer, waveguide, and a solid immersion mirror made of high-temperature metal (≥1500 °C). The mirror enhances optical focus and durability near the media-facing surface.

Lalith Kumar

Architect at Samsung, 3GPP SA2 Delegate.

Patent №: 12376180 – Wireless network and methods to maintain MA PDU session at NSACF.

In a 5G/6G system, the SMF detects an MA PDU session from a UE signal and notifies the NSACF to maintain accurate session tracking.

Patent №: 12375987 – Method and apparatus for improvements in and relating to management of a disaster condition in a mobile communication system. A terminal in a 5G/6G system sends a registration request for disaster roaming, including its capabilities. It then requests emergency service via a second network. After the emergency ends, it reselects a cell to return to the first network.
